Not looking good. Other than the first game in LA, I am very disappointed in this team lately.

Why can other teams do that to us, but we can't.

Why can other teams do that to us, but we can't. Bad bunt. It was equivalent to a weak grounder. Bat wasn’t high enough.

These games make it hard to believe. If the two dummies to start the inning would’ve advanced the runner, the game would still be going. If you can’t do anything but homer, you can lose to any team. Cue the excuses.

And our horse shit offense blows another game to second division team. I will never understand why we can handle the best teams but suck against those we should beat. You can't blame the pitching when our offense sucks. The offense we got came from Taylor Jones and Chas, plus a single by Yordan. When we need hits, we don't get them.

Cue the excuses. I'm sick of the excuses. Last night, they were all tired. I can't wait to hear what excuse Dusty will have for this one. That two out bunt attempt by Altuve was NOT a good decision. But, he has done it before with the same result. We should have scored, but, like you said, Chas and Taylor both went up there trying to hit home runs instead of advancing Diaz to third base. Had he been on third, Castro's ground ball would have tied the game. The guys who are supposed to be producing runs are not getting it done. That popup from Correa in the 10th was also a killer.

That 11-game streak they had earlier is looking less and less like their potential. They routinely cool off to a point where they’re unwatchable. I’m glad they traded a guy with no power so they can have a more homogeneous Chris Carter-like lineup.

I just don't like the bunt from anyone in that situation. Dusty had no problem with the bunt because if not for a great play by Sano we tied the game with Brantley coming up. Continuing to blow game like this will end up costing us home field advantage in the post-season.

I wasn't thrilled with the trade, but, I had rather have Chas than Straw if I can only have one of them.

I wasn’t sure about him starting, but his speed was valuable off the bench. I’m also not totally sold on Chas. He has great power, but he takes violent hacks, hits for a low average, and doesn’t get on base a lot. If Click is going to talk up Meyers as a reason to trade Straw, we need to see a competition between him and McCormick

All other things being equal, I'll take the guy who can hit with authority (power). But in this case, other things are not equal. Straw has speed on the basepaths. Stolen bases don't impress me much but I value the ability to go first to third when the next guy hits a single. Chas isn't slow by any means but advantage Straw. More importantly, Straw's OBP: .339 ... McCormick: .305 Chas needs to do a better job there. Would I rather have Chas than Straw? I think so. But it's not slam-dunk.

That would have been a good move if we were going to trade Straw to Cleveland. We ended up sending Abreu back to Sugar Land and we never know which Javier will show up. The one we usually see can't throw strikes.

It’s a bunch of pull-hitting lumberjacks with no strategy. Straw was far from the best, but he gave a little something different to the lineup.

I get holding on to Javier to an extent, but I think we’ve seen the best from Abreu. I don’t get the love the FO has for the kid. I wasn’t a huge Straw over Chas guy but to trade him for yet another reliever when they already got Graveman, Yimi, and Montero made no sense. The team needed and still needs help in the rotation way more.

I really can't speak to Chas' defense. The few games I saw on MLB and ESPN had Straw in CF and I loved what I saw. On most Astros games I have to use Gameday and/or streaming so it's clumsy to follow.

My main objection to getting Marte is because he's a FA at the end of the season, but, adding him may have been worth it. I'd like to see them get Graveman locked into at least a three year contract.

Probably not Max, but someone solid and dependable. Obviously I would have lost that bet. Apparently whatever deals he had cooking would have cost the Astros far more than the Straw deal. I dunno anything about the A-ball catcher the Astros got in the deal, but maybe that was important in the big picture.
