Couldn’t bear to part with Javier or Abreu for Marte. That would have been a good move if we were going to trade Straw to Cleveland. We ended up sending Abreu back to Sugar Land and we never know which Javier will show up. The one we usually see can't throw strikes. I still don't get the trade. Astros were already in an unique situation, a combo of two young CFs trying to fill the vacancy of a departed star. Straw was starting to settle in, and Chas was getting some exposure. And, you're thinking, they are definitely not Springer, but this is working. Could it be better, yes, but it was way better than then what most thought it would be. But then all of sudden, you trade the more seasoned of the two, Straw; and you don't get someone to fill his void? The result now is a more inexperienced combo of CFs. Some trade for a CF must not have happened that was supposed to have happened. It had to be Marte. But why not get Marte first, and then trade Straw for Maton?

These games make it hard to believe. If the two dummies to start the inning would’ve advanced the runner, the game would still be going. If you can’t do anything but homer, you can lose to any team. Cue the excuses. "Sometimes you just gotta tip your cap." - Craig "Mr. 3000" Biggio

I don’t get it, but they seem to believe in Meyers. So, if they do, why not play him then? That’s what I don’t get.

If Brantley still favors the ankle, put him in LF. Problem with that is right now Brantley is one of the few who is hitting....Yuli is on the IL, and, Altuve and Correa are both lost, although Carlos is looking better. Jose needs a day off...physcially and mentally. But, he won't get it today, because he is leading off again. Hoping for an AB that isn't a one-pitch out.

All these what ifs with defense went out the window with Maldonado at first base. Put Yordan and his pop gun arm over there and try out Meyers in CF.

I don’t get it, but they seem to believe in Meyers. So, if they do, why not play him then? That’s what I don’t get. I agree. He definitely needs playing time in the bigs. To do that, ya gotta put a good bat on the bench. One of Tucker, Brantley, Chas, or Yordan. Right now the rest of the lineup is a patchwork due to the absence of two important players. Yuli and Alex. So it's tough (but not impossible) to start Jake. For sure, we need to see Meyers in the starting lineup a few times. Hopefully sooner rather than later.
