Jake Arrieta is scheduled to be the starting pitcher for SD tonight. In his last three games he has pitched a total of 11.1 innings and allowed 17 earned runs on 27 hits. If the Astros bats can’t light this guy up, they may as well forfeit the Saturday and Sunday games and head on back to Houston.

Also, the one time he faced us he only made it thru 5 innings with 3 ER. He's worse at night than during the day. And, of the 6 Astros hitters whom have faced him before, 4 of them are hitting .333 or better (very limited sample size). Including a HR by Altuve. Diaz has the biggest sample size at 14 ABs in which he has hit .357.

Arrieta is a shell of his CY Young year. He hasn’t put up good numbers since he left Chicago. I hope we can light him up. That is easier said that done, especially the way this team performs against high ERA pitchers.

Lighting up Arrieta is something I’ll have to see to believe based on the current offensive production. I don’t care how bad he is now.

In a move that should come as no surprise, our idiot manager has "rested" Jake Meyers tonight and inserted McCormick back in CF. The lineup has been shaken up some with the exception of the Altuve, who we should know by now is going to stay in the three spot no matter what.

Jose Siri called up and Chas McCormick activated for tonight’s game. Robel and Enoli Paredes to Sugar Land.

“Jose Siri Named Triple A West August Player of the Month 2:47 PM EDT (SUGAR LAND, Texas) – Sugar Land Skeeters outfielder Jose Siri was today named the Triple A West August Player of the Month by Minor League Baseball.
Siri led the league with 37 hits, 71 total bases, 11 doubles and four triples in August. He was also second in the league with 25 runs and a .696 slugging percentage, and fourth with a .363 batting average and 1.104 OPS this past month. Siri went on a 17-game hitting streak from Aug. 9-29, which is the fifth longest hitting streak from a Triple A West player this season. He recorded 10 multi-hit games in August as well.”

2B Jose Altuve R LF M. Brantley L 3B Alex Bregman R RF Kyle Tucker L 1B Yuli Gurriel R SS C. Correa R CF C. McCormick R C M. Maldonado R P Jose Urquidy R I mistakenly put Jose in the three spot. He remained where he will be no matter what happens...leading off. Meyers is one of the few guys who has been hitting. For some reason, Dusty stated after the last game in Seattle that Jake needs a day off. Bullshit. A young guy who is hitting doesn't need a day off. He needs to stay in the lineup.

A’s blew another late lead in the same game with another homer. Gurriel hit a game-tying slam, and Semien just walked it off, 11-10.

6 up 6 down vs a guy who has allowed 17 runs in his last 11.1 innings pitched. You gotta admire this high-powered offense the Astros have.

Need a cure for a pitcher with a 7+ ERA? Give him a start against the Astros.

Look, you dumb hitters. They will keep attacking you inside. Learn to adjust. Jeebus.

Quick inning for Urquidy. That’s what we’ve been missing.
