Altuve is getting the night off. Brantley RF Diaz 2B Bregman 3B Alvarez LF Gurriel 1B Correa SS Tucker CF Maldonado C Valdez P Bregman batting 2nd and Tucker batting 3rd would have been better, but I do like Brantley leading off.

I like this lineup for an NL game. Diaz hasn't been doing much lately but he can't be any worse than Altuve has been the last month.

And more good news. BJ’s up on the A’s 7-3 in the 8th.

Altuve needed the night off, but, I don't get dropping Tucker back to 7th. Diaz has been almost as bad as Jose lately, but, he had to play if Jose wasn't going to. Brantley leading off is a good move.

Thank goodness Altuve is getting a day off. I don’t understand putting Diaz in the #2 slot in the order. He has been only slightly better than Altuve over the past month+. I would have preferred this order:
Brantley Bregman Tucker Gurriel Álvarez Correa Diaz Maldonado Valdez

I’m wondering when Maldonado is going to be given some time off. He is no spring chicken. Dusty is just running him into the ground.

Díaz batting second is twice as bad as Altuve at leadoff right now. He’s ice cold. Let’s hope the old manager hunch pays off.

Man, Jays had to fight off a 5-run 9th (with no one out) to beat the A’s, 10-8.

Is Framber just going to be as reliable as Greinke now?

All you guys are really sold out on the importance of batting order, ain't you? So, you’re okay with the worst hitter next to Díaz nowadays getting the most AB’s?

Tucker is really putting together a fine season. I'd have to rank him as our 2nd best player behind Correa this year.

All you guys are really sold out on the importance of batting order, ain't you? So, you’re okay with the worst hitter next to Díaz nowadays getting the most AB’s? They all pretty much get the same number of AB. Moving Tucker from 4th to 6th doesn't change the number of AB he gets tonight.

That's a silly question and you know it. No it isn’t, if the batting order doesn’t matter. 1. I didn't say the batting order doesn't matter. 2. I was talking about the batting order of players who are expected to hit. 3. I would rather have Altuve have more ABs than nearly anyone in baseball...when he isn't hurt or got a sty on his eye. He's been one of the best hitters in baseball for half a decade or more, and only Astros fans are shitty enough to give up on him during a down year.
