LMAO Strom has ruined him. I know getting game one is important, but, why bring in what you consider to be your top two relievers with a six run lead. Graveman will probably be unavailable tomorrow and he damn near burnt up Pressly. Name a reliever during his tenure you had faith in during the postseason. How many pitches has Strom thrown during the post season? Still waiting for you to say who should replace him.

Graveman was already due regression; 0.82 ERA vs. 3.12 xFIP while with the Mariners, thanks to a .176 BAbip. They gave up a couple of months of a good, but not outstanding, reliever for five years of Toro. They definitely sold high on Graveman. I sure wouldn’t break the bank to re-sign the guy. I would not break the bank, but, I'd offer him a contract.

I'm a big Strom fan as they come, but you do have a point.....FTR I know the Astros are lucky to have BS.

One question though, why use Graveman and Presley. Don’t we play tomorrow Of course we play tomorrow. But not on Saturday. Neither Graveman nor Pressly were used in the final game of the regular season. So they've both had four full days of rest. Pressly should be just fine tomorrow, if needed. Given the results from Graveman, better to see that today than if the game is on the line tomorrow. JMO

The pitching gave up one run. The key is the starters; not the bullpen.

How do you justify blaming everything on Dusty or the fielders or the offense or the beer vendor, but not Strom? Since Dusty makes the decision on when a pitcher works, that's on him. If fielders make errors and the hitters allowed to reach due to those errors score, then, the fielder is at fault for them being on base. If a pitcher gives up a home run, the only run the pitcher is responsible for is the one scored by the guy hitting the home run. Strom doesn't throw a pitch, field balls, or make managerial decisions. All he does is coach the pitcher. He cannot think for them or locate pitches for them. That is on them. I have never seen a beer vendor influence the outcome of a game.\ Had you rather have Brocail back?

We had a shutout until that worthless Strom gave up that run in the 8th. Centron and Snitker have both done such good jobs that the majority of guys who leave here, go to a team with a decent hitting coach, suddenly become run producers. Take a good look........Teoscar Hernandez, Colin Moran, Tony Kemp, Abraham Toro, etc. Hell, Jack Mayfield and Max Stassi even improved after they got away from Centron and Snitker. LOL

Bullpen just had three days off, and they get another day off on Saturday. Why are we suddenly worried that we can't use the same reliever on back-to-back days?

I guess that means we both can read a schedule. That was sarcasm, easy to identify for most folks whose intellect can be calculated by something other than their fingers and toes. if I did not know better it almost sounds like your your comment defended the sheer stupidity of Baker’s decision.

Bullpen just had three days off, and they get another day off on Saturday. Why are we suddenly worried that we can't use the same reliever on back-to-back days? Though it may not enter into the calculations, we have 3 bullpen arms that are worthy of pitching in playoff situations. Just 3 and now it does not make sense to try to stretch either guy out if a long tight game presents itself tomorrow. I kind of equate it to the philosophy of, I made a lot of money this week, let’s go spend it all.

don't forget the hitting coaches, who oddly have never taken an at-bat but somehow are still responsible. The hitting coaches gave up the run today, we all know this. Somehow, those worthless hitting coaches produced the top offense in baseball, while the magical and miraculous pitching coach produced a bottom-of-the-pack bullpen.
