Well, they weren't great innings but they were innings we didn't have to use somebody better.

We put three runs up to give us just a little hope. Then, we send Maldonado, the automatic out, up to lead off the next inning. Are we resting Castro for next season?

Yeah, I agree. We need offense to try and fight our way back into this. But we have one single Maldonado up to leadoff an inning. Let Castro bat!

The team, media, and fans make too many excuses for Maldonado. Castro isn’t Mike Piazza, but how can anyone justify having Martín bat with RISP?

At this point how confident, do you think the Astros make it back to Houston. 100%, what say you, Debbie?

Okay, three things we’ve learned so far:
1. Eovaldi isn’t a god. 2. Kiké is a decent but unspectacular fielder. 3. They must attack Devers more. He’s clearly injured.

Well, the pitching has given us a chance since the 2nd inning...

From Taylor on the Relief Pitching has done a really good job. What starting pitchers do the Astros have left now other than Urguidy, Greinke. Greinke hasn't been good in a month or more.

Altuve, it doesn’t have to be a home run every time.

At least make it not embarrassing! They played well. Five unanswered runs after the so-called pitching of the first two innings. Good stuff to build on for the next game.

If he is healthy enough, give Meyers the start in CF in game three and have Castro catching. He needs a shot after his two AB's today. Maldonado is a sure out 95% of the time. After the game, A-Rod referred to Carlos Correa as "the Lebron of baseball". That's a damn lie. Lebron James is one of the most selfish assholes in all of professional sports. Correa should resent that.

The offense is still there. I think Urquidy will give them a nice bounce back game.

Without McCullers, their's is about equal to ours. Losing him is going to be hard to overcome, but, it can be done if someone else steps up.

No matter who the pitcher is, the common thread to playing losing baseball is the lack of strike throwing. Framber got lucky and didn’t implode. Garcia’s outing was an unmitigated disaster, and I don’t know why you would throw a flat fastball outside to a guy who crushes outside pitches. It seemed like there was no strategy there. They better get ahead of more hitters or else we may have seen the last of the Astros this season.

Regarding Garcia's knee injury, it seems he has been having some problems for awhile but never bothered to mention it. I wondered why Urquidy wasn't the game 2 starter since Garcia had looked awful in Chicago. The knee could have been a problem in that game. In an interview about Garcia's knee, Dusty had this to say: “We're not there yet,” Baker said. “It came to our knowledge that this has kind of been bothering him a little bit on and off, but he hadn't said anything about it. It wasn't bothering him enough not to pitch. We'll make that determination in a couple of days.”
