Clearly, this justifies Maldonado starting EVERY GAME this postseason.

And the friggin fans are talking about how that’s essential. He’s the position player version of Lord Strom.

On a positive note, if he gets one more hit, his batting average will DOUBLE!

The top of the order needs to set the tone early tonight. We need more from Altuve and Brantley than what they did in Game 2. And of course, it would be amazing to see Urquidy go 6-7 strong innings...

And of course, it would be amazing to see Urquidy go 6-7 strong innings... Getting more from the top of the lineup is essential if we are to win. If we get one win at Fenway, we go back to Houston. We have had some success against Rodriguez in the past so I think we can get to him tonight. We MUST get at least 5 from Urquidy and hopefully six. Another help would be to see Castro in the lineup. Since Rodriguez is a lefty, Dusty will probably start him. Castro is a better option than Maldonado even if we are facing a lefty.

Stromanaldo. The Superhero Duo that turns garbage into greatness! The hypocrisy of how the fans flamed Everett for his bat juxtaposed with their love for Maldonado.

I have a feeling the Astros offense is going to score a lot of runs tonight. (Of course, I remember Saint had a similar feeling during the regular season and it just turned out to be gas)

(Of course, I remember Saint had a similar feeling during the regular season and it just turned out to be gas) If we score those runs, it will be with Maldonado and his automatic outs in the lineup and our worst outfielder, Jose Siri, in CF. Dusty never ceases to amaze with his lineups.

Yeah I don't understand this move to Siri. I guess hitting .417 in the postseason isn't good enough.
And if Meyers can't play, shouldn't we be moving him off the roster?

Also, why is a guy with a broken finger starting in CF? This is nutty. It is total lunacy to have Maldonado or Siri in this lineup. Why would he even consider putting Siri in the lineup? Could mean that Meyers isn't able to go and Chas had a bad game offensively in game two. Why he won't start Castro is something I'd like to hear him explain. He would probably say we need him to handle Urquidy and communicate with him better than Castro.

Unless Chas is hurt or got threatened by the Boston mob, it makes no sense for him to not be in the lineup right now.

If Meyers can't play why not have Stubbs on the roster so we could pinch hit for Maldonado early in the game if necessary.

About Siri in the lineup, two main thoughts:
1. Siri has a much bigger difference vs. LHP than Chas does. In fact, some of Chas' numbers are worse against LHP, while Siri has crushed them. In particular, Siri has nearly double the line drive percentage vs. LHP than Chas does (27.3% vs. 15.4%). Siri's strikeout rate also dropped massively vs. LHP (23.5% vs LHP and 40.6% vs. RHP), while McCormick saw only a marginal improvement (31.1% vs. LHP and 33.0% vs. RHP).
2. Siri is also the better defender. Urquidy gets less than 35% ground balls so that may be a major factor.
The front office also dives a lot deeper than that. They'll have projections for all the guys vs. all potential pitchers for Dusty to look at. It may be that their data projects Siri significantly better than McCormick against Eduardo Rodriguez specifically, using Trackman and other info that we don't have access to.

Where did you get the idea that Siri is a better defender? He has made mental screwups in CF that has cost us outs.
