I'm of the opinion that whatever Maldonado may bring to the defense is massively overshadowed by his extreme negative value on offense.

Some guy on Twitter just told me we HAVE to keep Maldonado in there to stop Boston from stealing second left and right.
Boston stole the second-fewest bases in MLB; just 40, grand total, as a team, in 162 regular season games.
