Nice story for Castro. Coming back to Houston after all these years and becoming a postseason hero. Boy is always Secret Agent Clutch. Never gets any fanfare.

The move to Eovaldi was overzealous on the part of Cora. It may cost him in the next couple days.

In his last few games, especially last night, he has looked like what we thought we were getting when we traded for him. I am not impressed with Yimi Garcia, and, I have my doubts about Baez. Yimi will be gone, but Baez is signed for next year. Let's hope he can get healthy and contribute. A potential back end of the bullpen of Pressly, Graveman, Stanek, and Baez could be excellent. Could be. I don't think we saw Baez when he was 100% healthy. I don't want Yimi back. I want to see them get a top lefty that could be used in the back end with Stanek, Graveman, and Pressly. We had one in Hader before Luhnow traded him for a couple of assholes in Fiers and Gomez.

If Javier is a starter next year, who are the long relievers? Odorizzi, Solomon? And both of them get spot starts next year. I reckon Click will be in the market for at least one but probably two veteran starters. So what happens with everyone else to start the year will be determined in ST. Who's healthy? Who has options? Who's performing well? Jake-O presents a problem. As much as many of us would like to write him off, he's on contract. He can't be sent to the minors so it's either a spot on the 26 or on the DL. Since his salary isn't insignificant, he'll have a slight edge to be in the rotation rather than the pen. That's just politics but it is how things work. Way too early do predict how the deck will be shuffled to start next season. JMO. A lot will depend on who the manager is dealing the cards.

You are absolutely right. Javier, McCormick and Meyers have all been yanked around this season. If Javier is a starter next year, who are the long relievers? Odorizzi, Solomon? And both of them get spot starts next year. Barring injury or trade I definitely see Solomon and Jonathan Bermudez on the Astros pitching staff next season. Maybe Hunter Brown too. Their roles as well as that of Odorizzi will likely depend on whether Click signs a stud FA starting pitcher.
