I am not going to get to up after this evening. This thing has been an emotional roller coaster, so far, and the big Mo could easily and may swing the other direction the next few days.

Having him for an inning or two in key spots could be huge. |

Disclaimer: also not an expert, but when I was with TCB one of our staff guys got an actual doctorate in sports medicine and it was great to pick his brain.
If it was just tightness I highly doubt he would have missed this series. Any muscle strain, not just severe ones, can involve partial tears to the muscle itself or it's connective tissues. If they ruled him out of this series and they're still uncertain about him for the WS too, that's got to be something more than just tightness or cramps. It's almost two full weeks from the last game he pitched until Game One of the World Series, and of course if they thought he'd be ready sometime mid-series you're talking about more like 2.5 - 3 weeks. Definitely something more serious than tightness or cramps IMO.

To gain sweat to put on the ball.... I didn't notice this... But how in the heck is that illegal? If it is then, when a pitcher takes his hat off, and runs his hand through the hair, to gain that sweat, and then touch the ball, then this should be illegal as well. |
