Any f***ing role he wants. Well, I have to give him credit. He pushed the right buttons with this pitching staff the last 3 games. He made the right moves and Strom worked some magic with Valdez and Luis Garcia to turn them around. He needs to do the same with Urquidy. I think he coached near perfect ball this series. It actually went better than I thought it would. Good for Him. Good for US!

He made the right moves in the ALCS. I am keeping my fingers crossed that McCullers can pitch for us.

He has used his guys the way he mostly has all year. Yeah, he probably pulled starters a little early, but in a series like this you have to be a little more careful. He didn't try to be the mastermind like Roberts in LA has done or Cora with Eavoldi. He let his team do what they can do and it worked. No weird lineup changes, no goofy unnecessary use of starters out of the bullpen, and no panicking. I still say that Castro needs a couple starts when we face tough righties, but our offense made up for Maldonado failures as they have all year.

He will come in to pinch hit in late innings for Maldonado if we need runs.

The downfall of this analytics garbage is overthinking. Yordan completely destroyed these silly shifts. If you keep dumbing down the game, it can backfire.

Every fad or so called new baseball epiphany during the past 150 years has had someone come up with an adjustment that made that so called innovation obsolete. Beane's moneyball concept works(ed) pretty well for tendencies, but when you crazily start applying down to the level of crotch grabs, you realize that the clipboard starts becoming your worst enemy.
