Morton vs. Valdez
Let's hope we get to see the wild version of Uncle Charlie and NOT the wild version of Framber.
Predictions: Altuve and Bregman go off and carry the offense.

By the 3rd batter we should have a pretty good idea of how the night is going to go. If his pitch count in the first is 15 or higher, I am going ot feel pretty good. <10? We're probably killing worms, CFM's splitter is in killer mode, and we are in for a tough night.

They were a combined 15-73. We were carried by Yordan, Kyle, and Yuli.

With Brantley's severe lack of power now, I wish we would see him hitting against the shift more.

Brantley, Altuve, and Bregman could benefit from it.

We’ve all been waiting for this GDT. If you had told me after the 2017 WS that we'd see this pitching matchup in another WS, but Morton would be on the other side and our starter would be a guy who hadn't even cracked a major league roster yet, I wouldn't believe it.

Tonight’s game is a big one for both teams. Atlanta is rolling and they have their grizzled veteran leader on the mound. If the Astros knock Charlie around early it could break the momentum of their young team. If Charlie shuts the Astros down and the Braves take game one, those young guys will really be fired up going forward.

Enjoy the ride. 3 times in 5 years is special Oh yeah... and making the post season 6 of the last 7 seasons Think about it, 10 years ago we were mired in 3 consecutive 105+ loss seasons. Bo Porter is a distant memory (nightmare) now.

Marwin added to the roster in place of an actual hitter, Meyers. Makes sense to add Marwin. He will be nothing more than a PH during games in Atlanta.

Unless an infielder is injured, the only way we see Marwin is as a pinch hitter in games played in Atlanta. They had said earlier that Meyers was available to hit and pinch run. If that is true, I don't really understand why they removed him in favor of Marwin. Jake is a better hitter and has speed on the bases. Maybe they determined that his shoulder would not allow him to swing the bat as he normally does.

I consider the possibility Jake was "available" but they were hesitant to use him, fearing long-term issues if he re-injured his shoulder. Maybe he hasn't healed as much as they wanted everyone to believe.

Yeah, pretty much just a pinch-hitter. Honestly now that I think about it, it's a good addition; considering the state of the pitching staff, either game 3 or 4 will be a bullpen game, so we'll need more than one pinch-hitter probably.

It's not like we don't have other capable centerfielders. Probably a good idea not to have him on the roster. If that shoulder was going to hinder him being able to swing the bat or if it could create a long term problem, they were right to leave him off the roster.

Marwin is a solid with the glove, but, I had rather had Taylor Jones to pinch hit.

Manfred saying the roof will be open tomorrow night. Manfred should not have the right to say if the roof is open or closed. That should be left up to the Astros. That idiot screws up everything he touches.
