Trying to be positive here, the last time our leadoff hitter went 0-for in Game 1 of the WS, he went on to be the WS MVP and we won. Springer 2017: 0-4 4 Ks (Astros win WS) Springer 2019: 2-3 (Astros lose WS) Altuve 2020: 0-5 3 Ks (Astros ----- WS) True. In 2017 Springer went 3-26 in the ALCS against the Yankees prior to going 0-4 in game #1 of the World Series. So he was 3 for his last 30 coming into game #2. Altuve was 3-24 in the ALCS vs Boston before going 0-5 in game #1. So he is 3 for his last 29 going into game #2 vs Atlanta. We shall see if Altuve has an awakening. |

Prediction: If the Astros win tonight, I think they take the next two as well. Then they will lose in game five, and come back to Houston to win in game six, thus 2021 WS Champs.

Dusty, do the team a favor. Stop having your least confident player batting 3rd. Move Bregman to the 7-spot. Move Yuli up a notch and have Tucker bat 3rd. Enough of this ‘giving a struggling player confidence’ nonsense. You want your best hitter having more AB’s. Also, stop starting Maldonado. He’s a garbage hitter and when he gets on, he also clogs up the bases. It’s a lose-lose. All great suggestions......Dusty won't change a damn thing. |
