Once again, altuve swings at a breaking ball 3 feet outside and in the dirt and strikes out .....he should know it's coming, yet he is dumb enough to swing anyway. Then, Carlos takes a fastball down the middle for strke three......these guys have no clue at the plate today. I hope I am wrong, but, I think this game was probably decided in the first inning.

Is there a reason why Smith is so much worse this season? It happens nearly every time a reliever comes to Houston. It wouldn't be me, but there are guys who really get into looking at how the degree of horizontal and vertical movement has changed year to year, same with spin rate, release point, etc. I'm sure something must turn up there. The main thing I noticed was that his slider and sinker have been giving him the most problems. |
