I still want to know why people called him "Corch"? Like, is that his first name or something? It was given to him as he always was pushing the fact he was a retired Coach (HS) and acted like he knew more than everyone else because of it early on. He got called out and would never tell what School or area. So it was a play on Coach Any dude who stated survived five heart attacks is a bullshitter. |

As I said (and the Yankee reiterated), the issue is idiots like Corch and Marshall always...always...go too far. The posts you mention about Trump didn't lead to consequences (that we know of) because they were not reported, most likely. But all it takes is one malcontent to report violations and we then find ourselves chatting on Reddit for want of a forum of our own. Examples I had to delete: "Kill every muslim", "Every Mexican in America should be deported", "Kamala is a hooker", and a googleplex of posts that touched the edges of racism without coming right out and using the N-word. I could go on for hours with examples of shit I had to moderate. Marshall was banned because he continued to flaunt the PB policy against "misinformation" regarding Covid. He was warned multiple times, and each time spouted the ignorant belief that he had freedom of speech HERE (pro-tip: He doesn't). Which leads to an interesting sidebar: private property rights and freedom of speech are inexorably intertwined. Without private property, where are you going to practice the speech? People who own or control real property or internet domains can legally limit free speech. Which is why at some point the far left will attempt to dismantle private property ownership. Some have been talking about it for years. |

Misinformation is a code word for censorship. Exactly, and this is the exact same politically biased issue that you see at FB, Twitter, etc. That as a double standard, that is beyond hypocritical. Case in point?..... Browse Probard forums, and see what has been stated about Trump the past 4 years. I am no great fan of Trump, and voted for him while holding my nose. Still, there was a plethora of the vile and violence advocating posts against him that went unchecked by Proboard Management. Then add the fact that after baseball season things can get boring here. Is there really that much to talk about? I really like the folks here, and enjoy it. Hell...some of you I have known close to 20 years from the old MLB forums. And Bortaz is (was) one the very few I have been able find to have thughtful discussions around historical matters. Seems spicing things up around here with pithy banter might sustain the success of the forum. I can post mostly elsewhere if needed, and lurk. No skin off my Glutes. And as far as interpretive issues around T & C's, probably 95% of the hacks at Proboards don't understand what I am talking about anyway. I understand this is Bortaz' forum, so his rules, and I'll abide. I’m a big history buff. |

Vulgar and insulting. 😠Don’t feel too bad. My German wife is a Yankee from Nebraska by way of Pennsylvania. My kids seem like normal Texans. Except for the one, and I blame my wife wholly for that. When she and I were dating I discovered that my future M-I-L spoke flawless German the day I chased a frisbee into her tomato patch. |

Covid-19:As a forum owner, you're keenly aware of the hard line ProBoards has drawn about misinformation related to Covid-19. This is an area where we need to tread especially carefully. Politics:This constantly affects our daily lives and is a huge segment of every newscast. It's no wonder it's prevalent in forums. Unfortunately few people are capable of discussing political issues in a sane and pragmatic manner. Mostly, forum discussions disgustions end up being exercises in poo-flinging and personal attacks toward others who don't share the same opinions. There's much to be gained by rational discussions about political issues when the participants have opposing views. Often the truth is found somewhere in the middle. But those discussions are usually spoiled by zealots. Regarding proper etiquette toward our elected officials, referring to our current president as 'Sleepy Joe' is probably not too far (and somewhat based in truth) although a bit derogatory. Referring to our current VP as a hooker was so far over the line it left propriety a tiny spot in the rearview mirror. Misinformation is a code word for censorship. |
