If you remember last season the early series in NY. The stros were on the verge of being swept and Jose tomahawked a pitch for a three run homer. I really believe he will come up big. I do too but why not off the bench latter-inningFor how bad Jose is in the ditch, it will be the status quo. Boone has changed the top of his lineup in a form of desperation. If Steinbrenner Sr. was still kicking Boone would have been canned a long time ago and would be back on ESPN.

Or maybe George Sr. would've rehired Boonie the next day, and fired him again a week later. And then rehired him again. He tried that with Billy before

I don't think him sitting there all game will help his mindset though. Plus, then you have to move the lineup around and I really don't want them messing with Pena, Bregman, or Gurriel when we just got them all hot again. I wouldn't disrupt the lineup either
Hensley 2b Peña ss Álvarez dh Bregman 3b Tucker rf Gurriel 1b Mancini lf
McCormick cf catcher
A big left and left center in Yankee stadium, Yordan should be at the DH spot.

I can't think of a discipline-type since Leyland was in Detroit

You wonder if Cole is going to use the same pitching strategy they used in game two working the outside zone of the plate. Against Cleveland he seemed to use his breaking pitches more often than most starts.

So apparently Lance's elbow got hit by a champagne bottle somehow during the celebration so they're just giving him an extra day to rest. He says he feels fine and he's good to go.

Probably not the right thread for this but it is the most active. Espada has been named the CWS next head coach.

So we lose Espada and get another year of Dusty. I sure hope we win the WS this year...

Probably not the right thread for this but it is the most active. Espada has been named the CWS next head coach. With the openings it was only a matter of time for him to be taken. Bruce just signed a three year deal with the Rangers. Those old Astros catchers are always in demand.

It's Cole vs. somebody but we don't know for sure yet. I still kind of like Cole, Kermit voice and all, but I hope we beat the sh*t out of him tomorrow. I full expect this series to go at least 5 games. I highly doubt we can beat both Cole and Cortes in NYC, but you never know! Start it off with a bunt base hit.

Surely we wouldn't bench Chas in favor of Dubon...

Surely we wouldn't bench Chas in favor of Dubon... There'll be (at least) one game in NY with Chas in LF and Dubón in CF. Prediction-wise FWIW

Surely we wouldn't bench Chas in favor of Dubon... There'll be (at least) one game in NY with Chas in LF and Dubón in CF. Prediction-wise FWIWI can't even fathom doing that. Put Mancini in LF and let Yordan DH. Leave Chas in CF. Who knows, maybe Mancini will start hitting. At least there's a chance. Mancini has a respectable .740 OPS at Yankee Stadium with 7 HRs. Or let Hensley play LF. He can't be any worse than Mancini or Yordan out there.

That's a prediction

Lack of bunting doesn't annoy me as much as it does you, but for a team so swing-happy early in the count the first time through the lineup you'd think you'd see that more early on. Especially when runs are at a premium this deep in the pennant chase

All these sports shows up here are crying how could the game end on Carpenters check swing.
If you go back to last season's NLCS the final game between the Giants-Dodgers the game ended on a Giant player's check swing. I can't remember the player but to end your whole year like that has to be a killer for the fan base.

You are most likely right with Dubon getting a start. If Dusty is going with Dubon in CF and Chas in lF any game this series, it may as well be in game 3. Only Astros with a hit off Cole this year are Maldonado and Mancini.
