It seems like thus far Dana and co. have done a good job at signing the draft class. As of yesterday 12 of 20 have been signed. Here is who is still unsigned: 2nd Rounder Alonzo Tredwell (RHP), 10th Rounder Austin Deming (3B), 12th Rounder Anthony Huezo (OF), 15th Rounder Garret Guillemete (C), 16th Rounder Will Bush (C) although abregmanfan says he will sign soon, 18th Rounder Derek True (RHP), 19th Rounder Andrew Duncan (OF), and 20th Rounder Pascanel Ferreras (SS). Ashitaka when is the deadline to sign these draftees? |

Your info is a out of date; we are at 19 of 20 at this point: 19th rounder Duncan is the only hold out, and you can expect that he will not sign. He's a prep guy, top 200 draft prospects, with a strong college commit. He was probably their backup in case one of Ochoa or Huezo did not sign. At any rate, the deadline is the 25th, next Tuesday. But aside from any further undrafted free agent signings, I'd say they're done on the assumption that Duncan will not sign. |

But if you sign with a D1 school you have to wait 3 years... |

I think NCAA has a sort of handshake agreement with MLB; NCAA gets to make their money for three years, and in exchange NCAA acts as an important training ground for future MLB talent. |
