Giles, McHugh, Harris, and Sipp should be available out of the pen today.
Vegas would say the Astros have poor chances of winning today but as we saw yesterday, teams can (and do) beat substantial odds and win.

Severino is due for a bad game, and if their defense struggles again, maybe we can make him pay.

35-21. 1 game up in the division over Seattle. 3.5 games behind Boston for best overall record. 1st in run differential at +125 (2nd place is over 40 runs behind)

The Astros lost yesterday due both to bad relief pitching as well as bad luck (Gardner pop-up HR, Kemp getting thrown out at third thanks to backstop ricochet, a couple warning track fly balls that could have put the Astros on top).
That luck should turn around sooner or later.

Don't forget when Altuve was doubled off in the 1st inning when he stole on the Yuli flyout. That kind of gave me a bad feeling from the beginning.

I will keep crediting these kind of losses to Hinch. Pulling a pitcher after a perfect inning with a low pitch count is just plain dumb. He did it Sunday and we not only lost the game, we wore out the pen. Yesterday, he pulls Rondon after a clean inning and low pitch count, brings in Devenski for the third game in a row.....which he claims he doesn't like to do.....and blows the game. Two games given away by Hinch in three days

Is Hinch about resting relievers or not? He needs to rest relievers at times but he is blowing games by doing wjat he did Sunday and yesterday. His bad move Sunday wore some of them out and he still lost and lost yesterday by doing the same thing. We have no lights out closer so stay with the guy who was good in the 8th. If he gets in trouble, then make a change. Hinch has given away two games we had in the bag. Sometimes, he needs to ignore his charts and go with what he sees on the field

I do a little. Or I should say that I wouldn't be surprised. That being said, if you're clean don't worry about it. You're making a ton of money to play baseball so they can test you every day and you should thank them.

Only Correa and Guriel have had good succcess against Severino. Marwin has been okay and Gattis is 1-2 against him. Altuve and Bregman have both struggled with only 2 hits in 15 ABs combined.
And Stanton has hit Keuchel really well.

Kemp's never even played RF, so wtf? If you're gonna play Marisnick then put him in RF.
Wait, just don't play Marisnick.

He has not played a single inning in RF in his entire minor league career (he played 3 innings in RF for AJ in 2016). I like Kemp. Got no problem with him leading off..., but RF? He doesn’t have the arm for RF. I sure hope hope the day off did CC some good.

That luck should turn around sooner or later. ...or maybe not. I’m beginning to wonder about this year. Sometimes it is just your year and things break your way. Sometimes it is not your year and things break against you. Seems like there were a lot of times last season when the breaks just went our way. This year, not so much. When I saw that ball ricochet off the backstop directly to Sanchez last night....and the guy who has difficulty catching a ball that is thrown to him actually caught the ricochet cleanly and threw out Kemp at third....the thought crossed my mind, “Maybe this just isn’t our year this year.”

The Astros have been good the last 2 seasons at bouncing back after a tough loss. Yankees are favorites tonight. They probably will win, but I wouldn’t be shocked to see Houston win the series.

Why the hell does he keep starting Marisnick? ?? It makes no sense. Does Hinch really think Jake is going to hit Severino??? Unbelievable.

Maybe this is a game. Hinch is telling Luhnow, “Look, Marisnick is awful. I’ll prove it by playing him until you get someone else here.”

If the year they won 22 straight wasn't their year, is it ever going to be their year?

Davis has one bad game so they go right back to starting Marisnick.

I understand Springer needing a day off but I would start JD Davis over Jake any day of the week.
