I echo his sentiments. Being married 49 years is quite the accomplishment.

Keuchel has been going downhill since his Cy Young year. I doubt if we plan to re-sign him unless he is willing to take a lot less than Boras will ask. I know I have said this before, but, I would try to trade him to an NL contender for a bat. Not sure I'm sold on trading Keuchel just yet, but hypothetically speaking, how about send him to the Pirates as part of a deal for Starling Marte? Mlb.com is saying he may be on the trading block.

I could get behind that. A real OFer who we'd have control over for a few years at a reasonable cost.

I just think the Astros should err on the side of caution and assume that any 2 of the current starters might be unavailable in October. In that case, giving up Keuchel could be dangerous. My guess is that PIT might be more interested in prospects than Keuchel anyway. I believe Marte is earning 7.8 million this year. Springer - Marte - Reddick as a standard OF would be pretty sweet. Tucker, Kemp, and Davis could be in the mix as well.

Personally I'd rather give up prospects than Keuchel. There is nothing more important than good pitching depth late in the season and postseason. And we wouldn't be giving up prospects for just a one year rental with Marte. (Don't forget the 2 team options past 2019 if we want them.)
