Socrates once said that death steals everything from you but your stories. I am sure that there are many great stories about olpapa and given this medium perhaps the best story that I can tell relative to him was from the old board. I got into a confrontation with another poster and was really getting aggravated with the other poster and olpapa stepped into the argument and said that he agreed with me and found my posts to be accurate and true and had witnessed me stating that I stood corrected when I was proven wrong. The other poster quit arguing and that was the end of that. Now the important part of this story is not that olpapa had agreed with me but that by his merely agreeing with me the argument was over. Quite powerful actually and it goes to his character and personality. He was always well researched, presented his position factually, and in a nonconfrontational manner. The phrase scholar and gentleman fit him to a T. I had posted on many boards at that point in time and for better or worse decided to stay here due in great part to his insightful input. He will be missed but we all have to remember, his cancer was very painful and he is pain free and at peace now. Goodbye my friend I am sure you are in great company.

I went to the funeral home tonight to visit with Olpapa's family. They mentioned our board several times and say they still get on to see if anyone has posted anything else regarding him. There is no doubt how well loved he was, there were people everywhere. I am glad I got to go in with the family before the doors opened, my new boots would have killed my feet if I had to wait in that long line. Olpapa was a very religious man and I love the fact that he had an Astros cap in his casket. Olpapa will live in my heart forever.
