40-34 5.5 Games Back Team OPS+: 96 Team ERA+: 122
Megill vs. Javier
OF offensive ranking with Julks' recent uptick:
Tucker: 117 OPS+ Chas: 111 OPS+ Julks: 90 OPS+ Meyers: 88 OPS+
From a WAR standpoint, if you like WAR, Chas is now our most valuable OFer per games played. Even more than Tucker. And, while his AVG hasn't been good, thanks to his recent patient approach Julks has a .819 OPS over his last 6 games in which he has 5 walks.

I'm anxious to see today's lineup to see who Dusty is giving the day off ahead of an off day.

Abreu with the day off and Dubon at 1B. I'm okay with that too.
Meyers on the bench today with Chas in CF. Julks back at LF and Diaz DHing.

Overall, I'm good with this lineup. Although, I would like to see Pena batting second and Dubon at the 9 spot. Glad Diaz has been playing on a regular basis. His bat is impressive and too valuable to be on the bench anymore.

Outside of average, Bregman is now outperforming Tucker from a HR & RBI standpoint. Bregman caught up with Tucker, even though Tucker had quite the head start on Bregman. Considering Tucker wants a long-term deal, he really needs to step it up from the HR/RBI department in Yordan's absence.

I just don't understand the constant shuffling every day, and why, when proven to work, Pena isn't hitting 2nd.

Considering Tucker wants a long-term deal, he really needs to step it up from the HR/RBI department in Yordan's absence. Bregman is actually having a solid all-around year. His defensive metrics (outside of a couple recent errors) have been excellent, and he's on pace to be about a 20 HR 90/90 RBI/Runs guy again with a lot of walks. The main thing that's holding him back from a good overall slash line is his lack of Doubles, believe it or not. He's only on pace for about 20 Doubles. In a full season he averages twice that. If you added another 8-10 Doubles to his totals this year, he'd be right around where he normally is (outside of 2019). I think we just need to recognize that 2019 was a career year, and that what we should hope for is more like what we saw in 2022. Which is still very good....just not MVP-caliber.

He has had an underrated career so far, in my opinion. He has a career 134 OPS+ and he has been a very successful defender overall.

You would say that 20-homer potential is quite a drop from 40-homer potential, wouldn’t you? Also, with his skills, he shouldn’t be going hitless for a whole series like he did against the Nats and almost against the White Sox and Reds. I have no complaints about his defense really besides the errant throws. His error pace is higher than usual.

It's not like he's having an Abreu-level season.

Yainer is a weird hitter. He can hit it 400’ easily but also hit into some easy double plays.

Where are the high fastballs today? This is kind of what you get w/ Javier. You get like 4-6 straight QS, then a stinker.

I don't know how Marte hit that... He whiffed on the high cheese so they kept throwing him slow stuff until he got a hit. Maldy is a huge difference-maker.
