Be the first to throw the stone if you have always been without being guilty of something.
Just so you know I believe true Pedophiles should be lined up and Shot the day they are convicted of Postive Undeniable truth. Not talking about a 17year old girl or boy with a 14 year.

You act like we said we should burn him at the stake. Basically, people said it would be bad probably blue relations to draft a guy like Heimlich, which is evident by him not being drafted. In some ways you did. Some in here refuse to look at the real evidence. Now, this kid life is ruined because of more than likely lies or half-truths.

Not when you look at all the real evidence. If he did I agree with what was said. I just wonder if that is the full truth. Especially in a custody battle.

You act like we said we should burn him at the stake. Basically, people said it would be bad public relations to draft a guy like Heimlich, which is evident by him not being drafted. Burning him at the stake seems like a pretty accurate description to me.
The crime is horrendous, though many things less severe are now lumped in with it. Even worse, the evidence seemed irrelevant because of the outrage of the CRIME doesn't even permit an objective evaluation of what happened.
I was thinking "Crucify Him" rather than burn him at the stake. Bit close enough.

But also don't let even the charge of inappropriate touching (denied repeatedly) be equated with rape. And the charge covers a range from 12 to 15 by a woman looking for a way to regain custody of her kid from her ex.
The lawyer probably advised him that fighting the charge would be very expensive compared with the deferred adjudication offered with the promise of making it go away. It happens all the time, and yes, that happened to me (different charge) and convinced me to take a plea for a crime for which I was innocent. Perhaps experience with an overzealous prosecutor and the financial cost of defending oneself against those charges has affected my view about reality vs conviction in our legal system.

In some ways you did. Some in here refuse to look at the real evidence. Now, this kid life is ruined because of more than likely lies or half-truths. So, you think we should say the kid made a mistake, forget about it, and move on? If this kid's life is ruined, he ruined it. We have a lot of problems now because kids are not held accountable for their actions. There is a big difference in molesting a child and underage drinking. If he molested a child, he should pay for it. We have guys in professional sports who have committed rape, beat their wives and girlfriends, sold and used drugs, etc. They get away with it because they are good athletes and that is wrong. If evidence shows this kid molested a child, you don't treat it like he went out and got drunk. Hold him accountable and do not allow him to play professional baseball until he has paid for his crime. I can't tell you how sick I get of panty-waisted liberals wanting to look over anything people do and just chalk it up to a "mistake" and give them a second chance without having them pay for their actions.

If the woman had ulterior motives for damaging the kid for a custody battle, then she should be locked up.

I said all along that we don't know the truth. But Yet all you guys threw him under the bus. How many people are screwed every day by a PA and when the truth is found out years later their life was ruined. I just had a feeling that was one of those cases. He took bad advice and now is labeled for life. Sometimes when you don't have anything and everyone is against you make the wrong decision hoping for the best outcome. Sounds like most of you in here have always lived a very cushy life with no real roadblocks. I thought that when you guys were talking about Gattis and getting clean. Hey, Mr. High Horse. We're just discussing the issue and how we feel about it. It's a tough decision about a potentially very serious very wrong crime. We're not throwing him in prison or saying he should be killed. We're discussing whether we would want him on our baseball team... And I don't think you can tell much about someone's life based on an opinion over one crime...

You need to be careful these days when making a judgement, for sure.
All I'm getting at, is that IF it's true, he has no business in the MLB, in my opinion.
It sounds like a pretty gray area after looking more into it, but I still argue that crimes of that nature are not "forgive and forget" or "throw the first stone" type issues.

However, child MOLESTATION/RAPE should be punishable by death. You can be a pedophile without acting on it, just like many homosexual christians do...they're gay as a pink pencil, but don't act on their desires.

I think he should be kept out of baseball IF HE IS PROVEN GUILTY BEYOND THE SHADOW OF A DOUBT. I did a little more reading and now I am not totally convinced that we have all of the facts. I don't think we have the whole story......I wasn't convinced in the beginning. I just despise child molesters because I worked with some kids in schools who were sexually abused and they can be scarred for life

With the #MeToo movement what you construe as "go after" better be more aptly worded as "ask permission".

He would have a lot of access to unaccompanied minors working at HEB. Again, I'm not worried about recidivism with him. I'm more talking about punishment for such a horrible crime if it's true. A star high school athlete molests a child that can barely speak in grammatically correct sentences and then goes on to be multimillionaire athlete pursuing his dream? That's not right.
