I love Yordan but this quote was from him last night after the game:
“Tomorrow we’re going to have to flip that switch and activate playoff mode," Yordan Alvarez said through an interpreter.
The important question is, why wasn’t the flip already switched?

I remember in 1996 we had a pretty epic September collapse. We lost nine straight and 12 of 14 and it cost Terry Collins his job I don't want to see them miss the playoffs but if this help jettison Dusty to the Unemployed line at least that would be the silver lining. |

TBH I'd be surprised if he isn't offered something higher up, rather than unemployment. Crane could look bad in the press, and that's top concern for him since the cheating scandal |

It's amazing he said that, and even more amazing that his response to that very same follow-up question was that maybe they weren't feeling the pressure because they were in first place. So after floundering the entire season, they take a three game lead with a month left to go, and they got so complacent that they got slapped around nine times by sub-.500 teams, including the two worst teams in baseball? If that's true, what does that say about Dusty? Apparently not only can he not fill out a lineup and manage a pitching staff, he can't even motivate the guys. What is he even doing? |

They appear burnt out and tired physically and mentally. It's been a lot of long seasons for most of them.
I think if they can just get there, that they'll have another strong postseason. I'm just not sure they can get there.

The next two games will tell you a lot about this team. Seeing as the Texas and Seattle are playing each one will come out with at least two wins and the other will drop to third.
