Kirby has looked good against us in a small sample size. 3 ER in 10.2 IP. He's not going to walk people so they need to be ready to swing if they see a good pitch early. Normally I'd say we need to work on getting his pitch count up, but we already know he isn't a guy who is going to throw much more than 85-90 pitches. Over his last 6 starts he has a 5.56 ERA with a .828 OPS against.
Personally I think he is getting worn out and isn't mentally strong enough to battle through it. Javier is a major question mark as well, but I think we can tee off on Kirby today if we can rattle him a little early.

It would be really nice to see Javier get his 10th win in his final start (Maybe?). Believe it or not, the team is 20-9 in his starts. He's been stuck on 9 wins since August 21st.
Over his last two starts he has looked much better: 10 IP 3 ER 17 K

Outside of Chas' grounding out on that first pitch with Abreu on 3rd, I can't remember a horrible AB, and the pitching/defense was everything it hasn't been. Meanwhile, they've lost 4 of Kirby's last 5 starts and he's given up 3 or more runs in each of them. If they can get to Kirby early, they can win this game. |

If anyone who shouldn't be back is Perry. With his moves at the end of the trade deadline, probably put the organization back a few more years. |

Hey Saint explain to me why in the bracket they are showing now. If the 6 Seed advances they have them playing the two seed and not the 1 Seed. I thought the 1 seed got the lowest bracket left
