I don't think it matters much who replaces Dusty, but I'm curious what y'all think. Please post who you like if you choose write-in

Write-in candidate for me: Anyone else. A few names I like: Will Venable, Craig Counsell, Rodney Linares

I'd give Kapler a shot, personally.
A. Player and coaching experience. B. A little younger but not too young. C. Solid winning record. D. Manager of the Year winner. E. A nice fresh start with a new perspective from outside of the organization. F. He'd probably enjoy sticking it to California teams.

I'd be okay with Kapler if I can call him Mr. Kotter

I guess if I had to choose between Ausmus and Espada, I'd pick Espada. Ausmus has gotten opportunities to manage and didn't impress, so let the new guy get a shot. Like Yainer getting to start in the majors, next man up.
Counsell is 1-7 in the postseason since Hader choked the 2019 wildcard. Pass

I care mostly about two things: 1. Keep Maldonado off the team. 2. Replace these coaches. For reason #2, I’d pick Counsell over Espada. Enough with the status quo.

Another reason I like Espada is if anyone has a rolodex of all the things Dusty tried to do that didn't make much sense, it's him

I hope Espada gets the job, but is not given a big contract, in terms of money and years. Kevin Cash’s, Rays Manager, contract is up after this next season. If Espada doesn’t pan out, Astros should be a top suitor for Cash

Apparently, the Cubs hired Counsell and fired Ross out of nowhere. Not cool.

I don’t know who I want as manager now that Counsell is gone, but I’d like Berkman as the hitting coach.

If it's down to Ausmus or Espada, Espada is at least young enough that he might be more open to front-office info and leading. Ausmus, at least in interviews and by word of mouth, has always struck me as a little on the haughty and sarcastic side, not to mention more old school. I just really don't see a good fit there, both in the way he would relate to the front office, and possibly even to the players.

Name the new manager already. Could be worse, Stearns isn’t hiring a GM this offseason for the Mets.

I nominate nathangarza. At least while we’re losing the lineup would be entertaining. And we’re sure to trade a AAAA player plus Tanner Bushue to some unsuspecting team for a boatload of 6 WAR players. Make it happen Crane.
