Is Rondón our new closer? I hope so. Of course Giles will go into his hissy fit pout mode.

4.2 IP and 1 ER for the bullpen. Not a bad day.

he threw that last pitch at 99.2 mph straight down the middle. Gallo just missed it. But he missed it. Go sit down Rangers 4 up, 4 down. Nothing like a sweep.

I hope so. Anyone but Squattin’ Kenny. It’s uncanny how much better than usual Giles was today. I wonder if Giles is best in a 7th-inning role

Nothing like a sweep to stick in the face of Ranger fans who said that we deserved Harvey by living by the coast.

Thank goodness for Kela making his fifth career major league balk. I'm not sure how long it would have taken for the Astros to score another run.
Kind of surprised to see Harris out there instead of Smith, who hasn't pitched in days.
Morton and Keuchel both looking a bit broken now. Maybe a chance for Peacock/McHugh to get a start and Cionel Perez to get a taste of the big leagues.

Hinch and the dugout got that win by getting that balk called. I knew Banister was gone aw soon as it was called. Rondon looks good as the closer and I have an idea he is the closer for the time being. Giles looked good in his role today. We pulled out another win and survived another terrible game by Keuchel.

Guduan has looked better this year than he did last. I'd expect him to do fine if he actually gets into some games. Josh James and Brock Dyxhoorn have also pitched well in Fresno. There's a chance we may see one of them up with the Astros too at some point.

Seems extreme. He's having a down year but he's been a very good pitcher for us for multiple years. This team has always had a problem with trying to live off of what a player did 3 years ago. Except for Fiers. He didn't get a 3rd year after his no-hitter

Is Rondón our new closer? I hope so. Of course Giles will go into his hissy fit pout mode. No. Hinch will explain the importance of a fireman reliever prior to the final inning. He played that role to perfection today with 5 outs when we needed them badly.

Also, good to see crybaby Banister get booted out of the game. The umpires blew the non call initially, so he had a reason to be upset. But the balk was blatant and I give them credit for conferring since it was not a reviewable call. They got it right...eventually.

I would have been tossed if I had been him. He had been mouthing at the umpires for a few innings and could have been ejected before.

With Hinch deciding to go with McCullers to start the Athletic series and having a day off tomorrow, I would not be surprised to see Keuchel or Morton skipped in the rotation or replaced by McHugh or Peacock while they work out their delivery problems.

If anything happens, it will probably be Keuchel being skipped or replaced. I don't think Morton will be skipped and everybody needs that extra day of rest on Monday, especially the bullpen

I don't mind the banter. I get annoyed when they show a flaskhback or something for so long you miss a pitch.
