If I recall correctly, Venters tried to set the record with 3 Tommy John surgeries.

If we're gonna burn 7 outs on 11 pitches .. that plays right into his strategy I guess

Cash is going for the lefty on lefty thing but he will probably regret not leaving in the hot hand.

Seems like a weird approach but they're off to a good start...

If Stanek is a short reliever they'd probly wouldn't want his pc higher than 16

That's 3 fly balls now, and the Astros have been hitting 1 of every 6 fly balls out of the park this month. So, my clipboard says the Astros ought to answer back with a homer by the 4th inning

In his recent starts, STanek has been allowed around 30 pitches. But Cash was pre-set on the platoon advantage thing.

Both the fifth and sixth pitches in that series could/should have been called strikes. This strike zone has already cost the Astros a run tonight.

I was really hoping to see Tyler White face Venters or Nuno today. Looks like it won't be possible for Venters.

so who's their backend rotation "starter" that's supposed to take over tonight come 4th, 5th inning It's Matt Andriese. He was allowed 50 pitches in his last tandem start.

Looking like McHugh/Peacock could see multiple innings today.

This could be a blowout if Cole doesn’t get it together.

The game is not yet out of hand. If Cole's problem isn't one that can be fixed immediately, I'd rather see McHugh come in for a few innings and let the offense get the team bakc in this one.

The offense will probably still put up 7 runs or more against this bullpen. No need to keep Cole in for 100 pitches, regardless of what the clipboard may say.
