The offense will probably still put up 7 runs or more against this bullpen. No need to keep Cole in for 100 pitches, regardless of what the clipboard may say. Hope you're right. Looks bad right now.

yeah the losing end of the first backwards no-hitter. that would've been ignominious

Batters are hitting .321 against Andriese in the month of June. Righties actually having more success than lefties. Interesting move by the Rays but I'll take it.

Glad we benched Gattis today for this...

Springer slumping and pulling. He should sit and Gattis should be DH-ing.

That’s right George. Reach across the plate and pull that outside pitch son.

unfortunately down 4-0 there's probably more urgency in the plate approach than would be of benefit right now

I wish I understood WHY a DH needs a rest, especially when he is the AL player of the week and the hottest hitter on the team. Hinch decides to rest Gattis and DH George Springer, who is in a slump.
In typical fashion, we come home from the best road trip in our history and stop hitting. We have consistenly done this all year..Hit on the road....come home and stink up the place.
You can't expect great pitching every night, but, he is getting no rest between innings because we can't do anything offensively.

Got that Homerism down pat. Thinking this crew will score 7 Runs at home. They have jinxed themselves since the Yankee's came back in that game. Been terrible at home for quite a while now.

Springer needs a day off. He’s looking bad. I can't believe he rested Gattis and let Spirnger DH when he is not hitting at all.

If they can get Andriese knocked out of the game, there is only one rested reliever available (Nuno) and then a few guys who pitched yesterday, plus Pruitt, who threw 29 pitches two days ago.

I don't think the manager wants Andriese to throw more than 50 pitches, and he is almost halfway there.

The Rays stand a fair chance of running out of effective pitches by about the 7th inning, so there's a good chance the Astros score some runs late.

I don't think the manager wants Andriese to throw more than 50 pitches, and he is almost halfway there. it's an intriguing strategy, but it looks based on my spotty observation like his long relievers are the guys that'll wind up sinking the staff eventually
