Disappointing loss yesterday, but need to bounce back tonight to take the series and rebuild momentum before the off day.
Morton is due for a strong game and the Rays' pitcher is pretty unimpressive so far.

I agree, Morton is due...and so is Springer. Springer is very due. I hope so, he is on my roto team as well...along with Gattis...who was on the waiver wire 3 weeks ago....I scooped him up after he was let go, just for homerism (pun intended).

They should rest Springer, Altuve, Correa, and Bregman with the off day being tomorrow and all.

I hope Correa got a good night's rest because he has looked very worn out in the first two games of this series.

The stats say McCann is due... he has had terrible luck on batted balls in play.

The GIDP problem has more to do with certain individual players than with the team as a whole.
League average is to GIDP in 11% of cases where the GIDP is possible. Under that, and I wouldn't fault the player.
Here are the Astros' GIDP stats so far:
Altuve - 11% of 76 chances Correa - 16% of 70 chances Bregman - 15% of 67 chances Gonzalez - 5% of 60 chances Gurriel - 21% of 58 chances Gattis - 11% of 56 chances Springer - 20% of 40 chances Reddick - 6% of 36 chances McCann - 9% of 32 chances
Beyond that, the number of chances is so low that it's probably not useful to try to read much into the % of GIDPs.
Basically, the guys causing the GIDP problem are Gurriel, Springer, Correa, and Bregman. Marwin and Reddick have a knack for avoiding the GIDP so perhaps they can help their teammates do better.

Tonight's Tampa starter, Eovaldi, is a FA after 2018. I hope he doesn't have a hometown great start.

Baserunning blunders have been our main weakness, along with GIDP's some of which could have been avoided if Hinch would ever use a bunt or hit and run to start the runners. Yuli is a perfect guy to hit and run with due not striking out often and because he hits line drives and ground balls. Due to his lack of speed, many of the ground balls turn into DP's like the one that killed an inning last night when a sac bunt could have resulted in a run when Gattis followed wiht a fly ball. Hinch needs to keep in mind that there is a difference is aggressive baserunning and DUMB baserunning.

The stats say McCann is due... he has had terrible luck on batted balls in play. I'm not sure it qualifies as bad luck when you pull everything into a shift.

I call it being stubborn. There are lots of players on the Astros and other teams who refuse to try to hit to the opposite field or bunt to take advantage of the shift. McCann pulling the ball normally means an easy out.

McCann does have a sharply reduced likelihood of reaching base due to his pull tendency and slow speed; but that reduction is from the normal 30% down to around 23% of the time. However, over the past month he is only reaching base about 13% of the time. So I'm just expecting him to go on a mini-tear to compensate for that gap between 13% and 23% he's been dealing with.
