White's grounder was the Astros' second-hardest struck ball tonight, at 101 mph.

At least George is showing he has a will to win. With some of the Astros players, I'm not always so sure. Esp Marwin.

Please God. I don't ask for much, but I wouldn't mind Marisnick getting beaned making it hard for him to hold a bat for a spell. Make it happen!

Easy loss for me. This game was over when it was 5-0.

Going to have to salvage a split against Snell in 18 hours' time.
The Astros sure like to do things the hard way.

I would not be surprised if Springer goes to the DL just like Correa. That looked like a back sprain to me.

The Altuve and White grounders in the 8th and 9th innings each had hit probabilities over 50%... maybe on a luckier day they get something going for late-inning heroics. But between JV's hiccups and overall blah night at the plate, just not enough to get it done.

The Astros always seem to do poorly when Correa is out of the lineup. like in August last year.

Why...WHYDOES IT ALWAYS HAVE TO BE MARWIN? Why do our rallies have to end quickly with homers? Why can’t they string some hits together?

Looking like Springer is day to day. From the Chronicle:
"ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — George Springer's back "jolted" after he made a full extension, diving catch to end the eighth inning of the Astros' 5-2 loss to the Rays. Playing after he received a "reset" off day on Friday to try and rid him of his horrible offensive slump, Springer finished 0-for-4 on Saturday with three strikeouts. He is now hitless in 54 of his last 58 at-bats. Defensively, though, Springer was spectacular. He robbed Jake Bauers of a fourth-inning single with a diving catch. In the eighth inning, with a man aboard, Springer ran in on Adeiny Hechavarria's sinking line drive and laid out for another hit-saving catch.
Springer was slow to get up but did walk to the dugout under his own power. Manager A.J. Hinch had no concrete update on Springer's health after the game and said the team would evaluate his "n\\\
In the unlikely event Springer goes on the DL, who would be called up? I'd think the only realistic candidates are Tucker and Straw. The fan favorite is of course Tucker, and I'd support his promotion.
However, some have given good arguments for calling up Straw ahead of Tucker. Indeed, Straw is a good player who deserves a shot, all else being equal.

2nd straight game without a hit by Joke Marisnick. Where are all you Joke lovers today? Has still done better than George and Marwin. recently, McCann's season OPS has slipped below Jake's... yikes. this was a clear possibility right from spring training; nothing surprising, but the thinking must be that the pitchers like McCann so much and he does such a great job calling pitches, that keeping him as primary C is better than calling up Stubbs. Although honestly, I think the Astros would win the most games with a Stassi/Stubbs duo.

in today's game, I'd like to see White in the lineup again (unless Yuli's back) against Snell. He hits lefties better than Reed, even though Reed happens to be a LHB.
Yesterday, White worked a walk and hit a stinging grounder which Statcast said usually results in a hit. Good Rays defense put him out on it, but White could very easily have ended up reaching base twice in four attempts. His early work in MLB this year is showing he can maintain a Bregman-like ratio of BB's and K's, which when you combine with his expected SLG over a large number of PAs, is very promising.

It’s time for the team to quit the rah rah routine with Marwin and McCann and recognize the deficiencies on offense. They need to acquire a good hitter.
