Sorry. I assumed the numbers for OPS+ and ERA+ were self explanatory. But not everyone is a numbers wonk. I understand those terms fine, and I'm a lover of stats just as much as the next fan........but you posted them without any kind of legend, or explanation of what the data was. Sorry I left my cap at home tonight.   I didn't mean to criticeze anyone but myself. A legend was in order. It's the top line in my spreadsheet. |

the thing I don't like about WAR is replacement means at the same position. So how do they calculate it for someone like Springer who plays two positions A sum of both? |

it seems to me according to the definition of the stat, Springer should have one WAR index as a CF, and another as a RF. Else I don't know what "Springer's WAR" refers to Well it's his overall replacement value. So his defense should be an average/sum of his value at those two positions. |
