Why Nolan Ryan, Roger Clemens and Justin Verlander couldn't get run support is a mystery with this organization

It’s hard to believe that Peacock is going to get a save for this.

Gattis is a good guy and all, but I’m not sold yet on him being re-signed, especially at market value.

Looking at the stories on ESPN and apparently FIERS is one of the pitchers being recruited to join a contending team for his veteram presence. Hmmmm!

38 innings for Peacock and he’s allowed 8 homers.

Gattis is a good guy and all, but I’m not sold yet on him being re-signed, especially at market value. We already have gotten more production from Gattis as a DH this season than we got from Beltran last year for a lot less money. Beltran's main value was leadership and a veteran presence in the clubhouse. He did a lot for that team that didn't show up on a stat sheet. Gattis is well-liked by the players and fans. As of tonight, he has 18 home runs and 61 runs batted in. He is playing like a guy who wants to stay.....Marwin is producing like a guy who wants to leave.

I didn't get to see this game, but it looks like the team pulled through even though Kemp gave up an early run simply through poor baserunning, and Peacock kind of cra***d the bed with 2 outs in the ninth. Maybe Peacock was in a hurry to hit the showers so he just thought, "The heck with it. I'm gonna pump fastballs down the middle of the plate till I get the third out, come what may."
With good play, the Astros can perhaps go into the ASB five or more games up on the Mariners. Go Stros!

Who would’ve thought Gattis and Marwin would have such opposite seasons? If Gattis finishes the year with 30 home runs 90-100 rbis and a 250 average then by all means we need to keep him for a couple more years. Really there is no reason to think at this point that he will not do exactly that. It is in line with previous years when given the opportunity, he is well liked in the clubhouse and is an easy guy to manage because he does not seem to let his ego get in the way. So sure why not keep him.

Gattis is tied for third in RBI’s with 61. Where would this team be without him? Yeah, they should sign him. Three years, $45 million. He’s 31. Three years sounds about right.

In fairness, neither is Marwin, but he’s always been a utility player filling a starting role until something better came along.

The only reason he was off last year, in my opinion of course, is that he was not used enough to stay sharp. I think that if he seems to be approaching the numbers I said above in late August/early Sept, then we offer his a 2yr 20-24 million dollar deal. He would be a good guy to keep around at that price for all the reaons I said before.

Clearly, that’s been debunked.

I'd give everyone a QO. Gattis, Morton, Keuchel & Marwin The QO should be around $18 million this offseason. If they continue to pitch well through the end of the season, I think Luhnow will make the QO to Morton and Keuchel. Morton had indicated previously that he would likely retire after his current contract is up at the end of this season, but by his more recent comments seems to be considering playing another year or two beyond this season. If he decides not to retire, I think he will accept the QO. Keuchel will likely play several more before retiring so I think he will probably reject the QO and sign a multi-year contract with the highest bidder. I don't think Luhnow will make the QO to Gattis or Marwin. If he does, I have no doubt that Gattis would accept and Marwin probably would to. I could see Luhnow maybe re-signing one or both of them, to a 2-3 year deal with a AAV of much less than $18 million, if they were willing, but I just can’t see him paying either of those guys $18 million to play next season.

I’d offer the QO to Morton in hopes he would stay. I’d offer it to Keuchel in hopes he would go. I’m 50/50 on what I’d want Gattis to do with his. I don’t think I’d offer Marwin that much money.
