The Mystery Rationalization of the Clipboard... I don’t understand Hinch, but he got them a WS last year. I think AJ did an excellent job of managing in the 2017 World Series. That said, when I look at some of the lineups he puts on the field and the way he handles the pitching staff from time to time, I think the team often wins in spite of his managing, rather than because of it. |

I feel like half of Hinch’s job is in determining how to manage the streakiness of Springer. Part of why Springer at leadoff has historically worked is because it constantly keeps pressure on the pitcher while putting him in a nothing-to-lose part of the batting order.

I'd take White against LHP any day. Hinch has been putting White in games against RHP recently, which is ass-backwards. The results aren't pretty and that in turn fuels the racist hate against White . If Hinch would just use White against LHP like I said from the get-go, all would be good and all Astros fans would love The Shark. |
