A Canadian sports site is speculating that Roberto Osuna might be getting shopped around by the Jays. No clear signs that the Astros are interested. I"d imagine many people would have a problem with the team acquiring someone suspended for domestic abuse, even though Osuna is of course a very good pitcher. Osuna would be eligible for the postseason. www.tsn.ca/mlb-rumours-blue-jays-shopping-osuna-1.1150332 mlbtraderumors is saying the same thing. Potential bullpen changing addition if you pull the trigger.

Some would say Giles-for-Osuna would be an even trade.
One nutcase swapped for another.

Giles is a nutcase, but I'd rather have him than a wife beater...

Osuna should never be allowed on a mlb field again.

What about Yuli's Brother in Toronto?

What about Yuli's Brother in Toronto? Nice hitting streak. Hope his injury isn't serious. He may have a thing or two to teach his older brother about hitting, but both of them are completely lost when it comes to working a walk.

Wait, did Osuna plead guilty or was he convicted of domestic assault? I’d be hesitant to vilify the guy unless either thing happened.

Is Luhnow on speaking terms with the Cards management?
Norris's numbers this year are impressive. I don't recall him ever pitching so well with the Astros, although this is a case of a starter-turned-reliever.
Jose Martinez has the plus that he hits RHP especially well, which has been the Astros' big weakness this year (contrary to popular thought). However he's not especially good defensively and hasn't played much outfield this year. It's hard to imagine him playing at 1B a lot, with Yuli/White/Davis/Marwin already available to play there.

It sounds like Luhnow is looking at just about every reliever we have mentioned in this thread: I hope he passes on Clippard.

Wait, did Osuna plead guilty or was he convicted of domestic assault? I’d be hesitant to vilify the guy unless either thing happened. He hasn't pleaded guilty and to my understanding, it's a misdemeanor charge not criminal. So I don't think prison time is a possibility here. He chose not to contest the suspension, but that is an MLB thing that has nothing to do with the criminal justice system. Hypothetically speaking, if the charges were dropped and/or the court finds him not guilty, would fans soften on their stance towards Osuna? Prior to the domestic abuse charge, he had gone on the DL for 'panic attacks' so maybe he wasn't altogether there mentally when whatever happened with his girlfriend, happened.

Maybe they should, I don’t know. For the record, he’s an okay closer. I think he’s a bit overhyped. I think he would be an excellent addition to an already solid bullpen. If he were to come here, he’d probably be the closer and do okay. If we were to go to the Red Sox, that bullpen would be deadly.

One stat not included in that table is FIP, which I'd pay a lot of attention to, esp in the case of relievers.
By that measure, the guys to consider most seriously are: Stammen, Yates, Leclerc (Rangers), and Joe Jimenez (Tigers).
Robbie Erlin from the Padres could probably be added to the list too.

Dude has been doing this for several years on the old forum. Not likely to change, as he is impervious to criticism. Though, he did challenge me to an IRL fist fight one time. Did you accept the challenge? I offered to thumb wrestle

Jose Martinez def blows but might not be bad to add at DH. Wonder the cost on him? Would Myles Straw and a low level get him?

Not sure if this link will work: Link hereWell it seems like the Astros might value FIP...because even our bad pitchers (Giles, Harris and Sipp*) are in the top 30....Sipp*, had the best ranking of Astros players, but I still don't trust him....also in the top 30 were McHugh and Rondon
