Oakland’s attendance this year is down 51,000+ from 2017. Tampa is down 45,000+ from 2017.
Overall, baseball attendance is down around 2.5 million from 2017.
Oakland being down is ridiculous.

I’d be willing to bet that a MLB team in San Antonio would consistently draw a bigger crowd to the ballpark than does Tampa and Oakland.., probably Miami too. I don't understand why San Antonio doesn't go after Tampa or Oakland. I am also surprised you never hear of the NFL wanting a franchise there. New Orleans supports NBA and NFL franchises and could probably support major league baseball, too. The San Antonio-Austin area can easily support a major league franchise. I wouldn't think Jerry Jones (my man) would want another team to compete with in Texas.

The problem is, the three million people in San Antonio/Austin aren't unaffiliated fans...they're mostly Dallas Cowboys fans (and a few Texans fans)

Correa hit off of a tee today. He ran and played catch. Then he tweeted AJ and said he felt “sexy” today..... per Rotoworld.
See, it was about sex!

Would like to see the Athletics franchise moved to a city beyond comfortable driving distance for those drum pounding idiots who never miss one of their games in Oakland. New Orleans and San Antonio could support major league teams. To me TB should move to the Carolinas. Huge hotbed of baseball love there.

I wouldn't think Jerry Jones (my man) would want another team to compete with in Texas. It is OK with me if the NFL folds Somehow I don't think the President would shed a tear over that, considering how he got shafted with the whole USFL thing. The Gamblers were fun while they lasted, and at the time they may well have beaten the Oilers had they played one another.

The Gamblers were fun while they lasted, and at the time they may well have beaten the Oilers had they played one another. The President got greedy and changed the USFL from a spring league to the same time as the NFL. That was way too ambitious.

Marwin at SS...again...and Davis on the bench. I don’t know why they bothered to call him up.

Move Oakland to Vegas. Guaranteed to draw 30-40 thousand a game. Not sure MLB would approve that move though. I read an article this year about how AAA teams tend to play much worse as a visiting team against the Vegas 51's (in comparison to their away records vs other teams). The theory is that visiting players hit the casinos, stay out late, and are dragging their asses into games the following day. Whereas the 51's players are bored with all that and more settled into a baseball routine and domestic life. I wonder if the temptations of the Strip would give a Vegas MLB team an advantage.

Singleton must be bummed watching the Astros make this road trip without him.
Just think: all that pot up in Denver, the tarp over the infield, and nothing to do but sit down and have a talk with Mary Jane.
