66-36 .647 winning percentage 5 games up over Seattle in the division 5 games behind Boston for the overall lead 1st in run differential at +188
5-5 over our last 10 games. We need to get something going. Get a nice run.

A good start would be to send Will Harris down to Fresno, if possible, where he can join Giles.

Rockies are playing well right now, going to be a tough go the next two games.

Have to score plenty of runs and outscore them. Need offense in these 2 games.

Is it possible that Oakland can make the playoffs or even win the division?

I'd say it's certainly possible at this time. Still a couple months to go and they're not that far out of a wild card spot.

I have been contending that Oakland was better than Seattle. M's had maybe the luckiest run of 3 months of baseball I have ever seen.
Law of averages always catches up at some point.

A good start would be to send Will Harris down to Fresno, if possible, where he can join Giles. A couple guys at Fresno who are pitching well and might help out of the bullpen are Deetz and McCurry. McCurry was dominant in ST and has looked good lately after a slow start at AAA. Deetz looks like he is on a mission to make amends for getting himself suspended. He dominated in the AFL last fall. There was some thinking that he might make the team as a late inning RP this year before he got himself suspended. He has pitched 15.2 consecutive scoreless innings. Getting a lot of strikeouts. Needs to cut down on his walks.

Is it possible that Oakland can make the playoffs or even win the division? If they go on a run and Yankees+Mariners fall, they can make the playoffs -- I'd give them a 15% chance of it. Winning the division would require a mathematical miracle, the odds of which I'd think would have to be under 1%.

Needs to cut down on his walks. Back in March, it seemed McCurry would be a shoe-in for a September call-up and might even get on the 40-man this year. It would be great to see him live up to that expectation. Time to get something out of the Lowrie trade.

Winning divison? SEA 1.6% OAK 0.4% link

Bad thing is both Oakland and Tampa have good teams and their fan support is almost nonexistent. I say move the teams where fans will support them.

Would like to see the Athletics franchise moved to a city beyond comfortable driving distance for those drum pounding idiots who never miss one of their games in Oakland.

I’d be willing to bet that a MLB team in San Antonio would consistently draw a bigger crowd to the ballpark than does Tampa and Oakland.., probably Miami too.

Move Oakland to Vegas. Guaranteed to draw 30-40 thousand a game. Not sure MLB would approve that move though.

A lot of good land with a good freeway system in south san antonio as well as up 35 if they want to get some of Austin's weirdness involved. About 3 million people in that fanbase with a lot of avid baseball fans.

A's have the 6th best record in baseball, but if the season ended today they wouldn't make the 2nd WC

A's have the 6th best record in baseball, but if the season ended today they wouldn't make the 2nd WC I’m calling it now. Mariners are going to fade and A’s take the wild card and don’t get eliminated from the division race until the last week of the season.

Money ball always chokes in the playoffs anyway.

I don't understand why San Antonio doesn't go after Tampa or Oakland. I am also surprised you never hear of the NFL wanting a franchise there. New Orleans supports NBA and NFL franchises and could probably support major league baseball, too. The San Antonio-Austin area can easily support a major league franchise.
