As with 0ther aspects of the game, you lack the ability to evaluate a catcher. Maldonado is a GOLD GLOVE catcher with a reputation as working great with a pitching staff, framing pitches, and the best arm in the game. As i said, he is highly rated when it comes to framing pitches and other qualities of a defensive catcher. Dude, I'm not even going to try with you anymore. Be as wrong as you want to be, playa. Geek,if I am wrong, why does the record prove that I am right? Are you disputing the FACT that Maldonado is a Gold Glove catcher? I hope you are serious about not trying with me. We can expect McCullers to go on the DL. I had hoped he would avoid a DL trip this season and hope it's as a precaution.

The Astros are still 1st in MLB in team ERA, and by a comfortable margin.
They are 5th in team OPS and my guess is that wRC+ is a bit more generous to the team due to having to play so many games at MMP. At .762 OPS, the Astros are only 33 points behind the BoSox at .795.
Once Correa and Altuve are back, the Astros ought to be playing more like the 3rd-best offense in the league and if the pitching stays hot, the BoSox will find it easy to beat this team in a 7-game series.

I never said I "didn't like" WAR. I said I don't think it....or any other individual stat.......shows a players total production and worth. I am still waiting on you to show me proof that Maldonado is not considered to be good at framing pitches. Why would WAR, in regards to a baseball player, be "scary"? |

Cleveland looked unbeatable for a good long time last year but they cooled off and got whipped. Boston has had just about everything go right for them this year. Guys that usually get hurt have not gotten hurt, guys are playing over their heads and they are playing real good team baseball. They look great right now. However I really like our chances if all our guys get healthy and play close to where they are capable of playing. Add another bat with some juice and I like our chances even better. We know our guys can take the heat. Let's hope it comes to that, it will be a great series. |

I think the anomaly of us being better on the road than home (some frustration for us too) may work in our favor playoff time. This team has weathered the pressure and adversity and I like our chances too. But at this point honetly I think we are at a 50/50 proposition.

The Dodgers don't resemble the same team we beat in last year's World Series. They are in danger of not making the playoffs and could finish behind Arizona and Colorado in the division. |
