Luck had nothing to do with the Win last night. Verlander shut down the Dodgers offense like he did last year. If you want to consider it was luck that Springer managed to get a hit with men on base, then I might want to go along with that.

And we actually won the game without any contribution from the Great White Hope. Maldonado is on after being hit by a pitch and Marisnick is one after getting one of the four hits we got. Both were driven in by Springer. Due to dominating pitching from Verlander and Rondon, we shut down an offense that put 21 runs on the board the night before against the Brewers.

Yeah, maybe if he actually played every day he could go 1-4 or 1-5 with a single like Gurriel.

Yeah, but, he would have to work hard to be as good a clutch hitter as Gurriel has been.....uou know, leading the majors in hittinw with RISP. Or, have a chance to improve his run production which right now stands at FOUR.

We have heard your argument many times.

Marwin, Maldonado, and McCullers all have to bat. Yuck. At least Maldonado worked a walk and got hit yesterday.

Red Sox win 4-1. Lead now 8 1/2 games. Looking more and more like the AL West champ will face Cleveland in the ALDS.

Hinch not showing a lot of confidence in Stassi on D. maldonado is a better defensive catcher with more experience. Stassi is the better hitter. I knew Marwin's lazy ass would be in there.

Looks like I get my wish and get to see if McCullers performance will improve throwing to Maldonado.

There is a reason that AL clubs score more runs than the NL clubs do. Having one extra bat makes a difference 3-4 times every game. Now when we get two 800+ops bats plus the DH look out.

It would be nice if Bregman caught fire again.

Gurriel ops back down to 715. He needs to pick up the power. That wrist should of healed by now.

Well Detroit did something in the first that they could not do in 13 last night. They scored a run. up 1-0

Well I guess there is some value to putting 20 pitches on the starter in the first.

ball three was inside the black, the whole ball was inside the black. No high strike for McCullers.

Boston is 44 games over 500. That is crazy good. If they play 500 ball the rest of the way they end up 103-59. Damn.

So far the Maldonado catching McCullers experiment looks ok as in 3ks in the first.

Man I was just going to say if Marwin hits a home run his ops will get close to 700 and then he does it.
