Who is the Christian Villanueva, Padres 3B.....In his first 14 games, counting last season, he has hit 7 HRs....he hit 3HRs yesterday....the basic write up on him is that he was not drafted and was out of options.....Any chance he might be something, or just flash-in-the-pan?

he is 26 years old, played last year in el paso, hit 20 home runs, a rather unflattering minor league resume in general. I doubt he keeps it up.

Generally speaking. to bet booed at MMP a player has to do something really bad (at least in the eyes of the fans). Such as Beltran leaving the team (the first time). Or, one evening I'll never forget -- Omar Moreno letting a ball drop in front of him in CF as he stood there with his hands on his hips. He had been having a contract dispute with the front office and wanted to show his displeasure. Fans showed their own displeasure that night too.

I made a mistake I watched it on the network, not ESPN. Wait, that was only one game with a crowd of 5 grand in the stands. No patience, he will probably be received how ARod was, given no slack. |
