I really have understanding Hinch's role right now. He continues to put a lineup out that has failed and continues to fail on numerous occasions. Yet it is the Same Line with a minor change. Same people in Leadoff and Same People in 3/4 who are clueless right now. I am not the biggest fan of AJ and his clipboard, but he can’t go out on the field and play for these guys. He is like a guy trying to get a flashlight to work with dead batteries. It makes no difference how he arranges the batteries if all the batteries are dead. The light just ain’t gonna work with dead batteries.

Yeah, the manager can't get these guys to hit. These are proven veterans with good success. If they don't hit, they're just not going to hit.

That's how things are going right now... Davis 1-23 before today against Keuchel. Today, 2-3 with two doubles and two RBIs.

Cahill with a 1-hit shutout through 6 innings. Our guys have no pride. No heart.

Might as well leave Keuchel in.

I think I'm going to do something less depressing. Maybe I'll be happily surprised later...

Division lead will be gone. Maybe the A’s have a letdown tomorrow.

Keuchel will be gone after 2018. He’s a good pitcher but not great enough to resign for what he’s wanting.

Cahill with a 1-hit shutout through 6 innings. Our guys have no pride. No heart. I hate to say this, but despite the great record, they don’t have the same heart or fire from last season. It’s been like that all season. Hopefully, this will give them a spark. If not, nothing will.

In other words, we have a hungry team in the A's playing a satisfied team, the Astros. We will leave Oakland is second place. The Astros don’t deserve to be in first place. The A’s do. They’ve “Earned It.” I agree......The A's have worked their butts off to be where they are. They have put together a top bullpen and have gotten great work from two guys in Cahill and Jackson who no other team seemed to want. The Astros won it all and seem to be satisfied with it.....no desire to do what it takes to repeat. Lots of the players have mentioned several times that they had no off-season due to appearances, etc., Well, they will have an extended one coming up.

Now you can take Dallas out after 5 earned runs.

Keuchel will be gone after 2018. He’s a good pitcher but not great enough to resign for what he’s wanting. He’s umpire-dependent. He needs those called strikes. If he doesn’t get them, it’ll be a long day for him. He tries to get weak contact, but hitters give him that against the shift. The swing and miss pitches don’t fool people with regularity. He’s worth a QO but nothing more, which is why Keuchel hasn’t given him that extension.

Keuchel decided he wasn't going to get any run support so he threw BP in the 6th to get to go rest.....4 doubles, 3 more runs and the A's have this one locked up 5-0. Melvin won't need to use his top relievers today.

I guess I really don't understand baseball players. How they can continue to go out and have this kind of performance is baffling. What happened, this was going on well before they traded for Osuna.
They really don't have the Heart of a Champion and it is showing with the performance the team has shown for over two months.

Astros motto in 2018 in the batters box....takes a hittable pitch. The dreaded called strike.

The difference is earlier in the season they showed up and killed bad teams and struggled against good teams but now they’re struggling against everyone.

Look I not really a Keuchel Fan but I can see it from a Pitcher point of view. It doesn't matter how well I pitch and I only give up one or maybe two runs I am still going to lose with these guys hitting for me. The offense is the culprit unlike with NY the Hitting has been there more often than now but the Pitching has really been suspect.
When was the Really Last Time the Offense pulled out a bad Performance from the Pitching Staff? They had a chance last night in the 10 and 3 straight Strikeouts.

Well at least the band wagon fans are starting to slowly show up for the A's. Maybe they will get that new stadium.

Just one thing though How the Hell does a Team have a Total Team slump for over two months. Something is Rotten in Denmark as the saying goes. Something happened well before Osuna came on board that Management was Silent about and did nothing to correct it. Was it they realized that they made a mistake with keeping everyone from WS starting lineup. WHAT?

They are supposed to be Professionals how do they look each other in the eye and face and think they were Professional on the field for the last couple months and accept the results!

I know Altuve is a very important part of the team, but as constructed, they should not be playing such garbage baseball. You still have Springer, Bregman, Correa, Gattis, Gurriel, Marwin, etc. They don’t have an excuse. This isn’t 2015.
