I know teams run into rough patches, but this is something I think we did not expect. The one thing you don't want to see might be the biggest choke in MLB History if the Stros don't turn it around and make the playoffs. I’ve gotta tell you pa...., when an entire lineup of position players coming off a WS championship season goes into a slump...and stays in that slump for two months and counting..., I have to suspect that there is division in the clubhouse. I don't want to hear any of them whining about the Osuna trade. This crap started way before that. I think you are right about the clubhouse being divided in some way, but, it is hard to tell who or what is the problem.

If there is division/conflict in the clubhouse and the players are laying down on AJ, I don’t know that he has it in him to get in their faces and snap them out of it.

From everything we hear and read, they have a good atmosphere in the clubhouse and all of them love playing for AJ, but, something isn't right.

Imagine in the offseason that somebody told you in a mid-August game this year, Tony Kemp would hold the highest batting avg on the lineup.

With the total lack of production we have gotten from the players who are supposed to be carrying us, it is a miracle that we are in a first place tie. Oakland has been charging since June and I wonder how many Astros thought it would last......Well, boys.they are here and will probably stay the rest of the way. As an old coaching buddy of mine used to say, it's nut-cuttin' time. Let's see who wants it the most.

I am sick of looking at this gutless wimp. I said something about Correa and Springer early in the year (first month) and got accused of wanting to trade them for fodder. At this Point, Fodder would have been a Bargain. This kind of fan nonsense is the reason JD Martinez is hitting 40 homers for Boston instead of Houston.

And Tyler White would have as many homeruns as Yuli, in a fifth of the at bats. As much as I'm a believer in Tyler, I still wouldn't have believed that. Although it says more about Yuli than Tyler. I figured Yuli would hit for about a .780 OPS this year and Tyler, about .820. Turns out Yuli is playing worse than I thought and Tyler, better so far. I'm sure glad I didn't wake up at 3am just to see that disaster of a game. Time for the team to do a gut check now. I'm afraid they are going to take the path of least resistance and retreat into the nice buffet and video games of the clubhouse, and their mostly luxurious lives in the Galleria, River Oaks, etc. Work might be dismal, but nice dinners, pretty girls, and $20,000 suits can make them forget about all that pretty fast.

The Astros “offense” is nonexistent. I honestly don’t believe they could win a 7 game series against their AA Corpus Christi team right now. A 7 game series between the Astros and AAA Fresno would be a tossup only because the Fresno roster has been diluted by players being promoted to Houston. I know teams run into rough patches, but this is something I think we did not expect. The one thing you don't want to see might be the biggest choke in MLB History if the Stros don't turn it around and make the playoffs. Right now the Mariners are just 4 games behind the Astros in the race for second in the AL West and for the second wild card spot. There is almost a month and a half left in the regular season....plenty of time for the Mariners to make up 4 games in the standings. If our guys continue to mail it in every game, Seattle could easily make up those 4 games by September 1st.

This kind of fan nonsense is the reason JD Martinez is hitting 40 homers for Boston instead of Houston. White is hitting nearly as well as JD in his limited playing time this year. The safe bet is that White can't keep it up. Then again, he keeps on disproving the safe bet and it's sort of becoming a broken record.

This kind of fan nonsense is the reason JD Martinez is hitting 40 homers for Boston instead of Houston. Actually, the primary reason we have been watching JD hitting 40 homers a year for other teams is because he wasn’t one of Luhnow’s guys. Luhnow didn’t draft JD so he didn’t have much patience with him. Jeff was focused on cleaning up the mess that was dropped on him by the prior GM. He couldn’t get rid of them fast enough. I really believe that if JD had been drafted by Luhnow, he would be an Astro today.

I don't remember him doing much before he was released and only started producing with Detroit. He was hurt the year before. The reason he was let go was our brilliant manager at the time thought he was half stepping because he is not a rah rah kind of guy. He had done the work and reworked his swing and he immediately came alive when given the chance in Detroit.

Since July 19 the A’s gained 8 games on Houston in the standings. Anyone who is comfortable with the Astros 3 game lead over Seattle for the second wild card with well over a month left in the regular season has not been paying attention.

I can say I have said that the likes of Marwin and Reddick and Gattis among those should have been let go. Maybe even a lesser role for Gurriel. I stand by that and have said it for over three months. Everyone kept crying they are in first place. The offense showed problems back in April and everyone laughed at me. NO big Deal it was only my opinion that has shown I was right.
