What I like about Verlander is he pitches strikes anywhere in the zone. It’s not the usual thing the others do, which is throw it down and out for a strike or hope thy swing at a ball. Let’s just hope JV keeps the ball in the yard.

Now that the A's are tied for first place, maybe they will wake up from their dream and realize they are in a race. Let's see if the pressure will now start, and see if they can keep it up. The M's after their sweep of the Stros stumbled a little, it starts today.

Gurriel and Correa shouldn't be hitting so high in the order. Those guys need to gather themselves in the 6-8 positions.

Let White hit cleanup and get Marwin higher in the order too as he has been getting the job done since the ASB.

Verlander has given up quite a few home runs lately. I think it will be a closer game then yesterday. If the Astro bats haven't awoken by inning 4 we're looking at 2nd place after today.

Formula for another loss.......Gurriel and Correa hitting 3rd and 4th. Gurriel is swinging at everything and Correa stands and watches pitches in the middle of the zone. Until I see evidence to the contrary, I will continue to rate Correa as an under-achieving wimp.

And Correa is hitting over .300 swinging at the first pitch and putting it in play. When he gets 2 strikes on him, whether it's an 0-2 count, 1-2, 2-2, or 3-2, his average is at .200 or lower. He should come to the plate and swing away at hittable pitches.

Yuli....after 0-2 count .188 average.

After 1-2 count....  .198 average.

After 2-2 count....  .205 average.

After 3-2 count....  .273 average.

Yuli has a .200 average in his last 28 days. He's hit into 18 DP's on the season.

AJ is much too nice a guy to move Gurriel and Correa down in the order and move White up ahead of them to cleanup. Wouldn’t want to hurt their feelings. I’m surprised...and pleased... that White is in the lineup at all.
