The offense has no fear. No matter how many DP they know they will be back in there tomorrow

3-8 not counting this possible loss since Osuna was reinstated. Is it the baseball gods that hate him? O Osuna changed the eye level on Gordon, nice pitch to get out of the inning. Back to Back K's Oh, he's a good pitcher.... but makes you wonder about our losing since he came onboard
I will say that this season has been quite crazy. Last year we demoralized opponents, but even when healthy this team has shown vulnerability. This makes other teams think they are always in the game. When Houston's big 3 went down, it created an opponent with absolutely no regard for worry. Every team that comes in plays loose knowing they will have a chance at the end of the game. What Houston needs is to completely destroy the Mariners tomorrow to put that doubt back into their minds.

Here we go again another 3-2 game into the bottom of the ninth.

Yay! Win or lose, the Astros have made history. Maybe if we allow them to tie this game up we can go for more records in extra innings?

Like I said it's no big deal. Hinch has allowed this team to fester and no one is held accountable when they Continue to hit into DP's

Not a single stolen base was attempted the entire night by the Astros. Probably part of the GIDP problem.

Rondon kept Cano in the park, leaning on the heater.

From Baseball Almanac, here are the all-time single-game records for GIDP: www.baseball-almanac.com/rb_gidp2.shtml One NL team managed to GIDP seven times in a 9-inning game in 1969. Coincidentally, the Astros were the defensive team that turned those 7 DP's. In the AL, 6 GIDPs is the most ever made in a single game by one team. It's been done 11 times in a 9-inning game prior to tonight. The Astros have become the 12th AL team to do it.

Not a single stolen base was attempted the entire night by the Astros. Probably part of the GIDP problem. That is a major part of the GIDP problem. In the 9th, if Gurriel had hit the ball to the right side instead of pulling it to the SS, the Gattis ground ball would have scored the run. As it was, our 6th DP. I wonder if we are the first team to hit into 6 DP's and still won the game.

The best thing I saw tonight was a good sign that Correa may be coming around with the bat...three singles and a sac fly that he just got under that would have been a grand slam if he had barreled it up. Then, seeing Springer on deck to bat for Kemp is a great sign that he could be in the lineup tomorrow. And there isn't much to say about Valdez other than he came up huge for us when needed.

I wonder if we are the first team to hit into 6 DP's and still won the game. It's happened 5 times now in the AL that the team grounding into 6 DP's nonetheless managed to win the game: The Indians beat the Yankess, 3-1, on 4/29/1975. Boston beat Minnesota, 5-4, on 7/18/1990. Detroit beat Toronto, 13-8, on 4/16/1996. Cleveland beat the White Sox, 6-2, on 8/7/2009. Astros beat the Mariners, 3-2, on 8/21/2018. On the day in 1969 when the Astros defense turned 7 DP's against the Giants in the Astrodome, the winning pitcher was Dooley Womack. Womack pitched 6 innings but did not start the game. The starter was Denny Lemaster, who was pulled in the first inning after recording only 1 out. He had given up 2 hits and 2 walks and apparently, was either injured or the manager could see it was getting ugly fast. The Astros offense in that game was led by Joe Morgan, who hit a home run; and Doug Rader, who hit a triple.

That was the poster who said Stay Thirsty... I can't remember the posters name, but that dude had a run on that quote for quite awhile on the old board.
