Have to wonder if Correa is healthy at this point. I’m more worried about Springer. His power has looked bad since the thumb injury. Springer is getting on base and playing good defense. I'm not worried about him. He's always been streaky too.

Right now, Daniella is just his fiance and hoochie mama. He is much more committed to her than he is to this team. First off, pretty disrespectful to another man's wife who has done nothing wrong to anyone but go on a slump. Try to not make things personal... Second, a man SHOULD be more committed to his then to his job. And lastly, he looked as pissed as any of us when he struck out yesterday. He isn't trying to slump on purpose. First of all, Carlos has not yet married Daniella so she is not his wife. You seem to be unable to grasp the difference between girlfriend, fiance, and wife. Neither Correa nor Osuna is married. Second, he was fantastic before his big announcemnt after the WS. He has basically mailed in this entire season. If he was married, he should be committed to his wife, but, most men are committed to their wives without being a flop at their jobs. I am sure he is pissed about the stike outs and DP's,but, he is the one responsible for them. Hinch remarked on the post game about the work Carlos is putting in...I have to wonder just exactly what he is doing since his results continue to be the same. Are he and Hutchens studying video of when he was going good and now to try and figure out what is off? Who knows!! All we know for sure is that Hinch continues batting him cleanup and he continues to kill the team by not doing his job. As olpapa said, Carlos hit .192 in May. If timing is the excuse now that he is 11 for 80 since coming off the DL, what was the excuse for .192 in May? And., we know Hinch will keep him in the cleanup spot because he has flatly stated he would. So, this makes Hinch as stubborn as it makes Correa terrible. The other players have to be quietly questioning Carlos continuing in that spot in the batting order.

I know it sounded like an insult to the fiance, but, I meant it as a condemation of Correa and his exhibited lack of dedication to his job. His efforts towards his job make it appear that he can't handle his job and a fiance, AKA hoochie mama, at the same time.

Correa reminds me of when I had to bench high school kids from time to time for staring at their girlfriends during a game and screwing up on the field at the same time.

That's why I try desperately hard to stay out of anything serious on social media.

Drawing walks isn’t everything. I’d like to see more doubles and homers from him but mainly line drives. As far as streakiness, he’s been way more in a funk this season than in previous ones.

You've carried it way past its shelf life, and it kinda makes you look like a nimrod when you continue to repeat it 5-10 times a day. No sane person thinks that getting poon is making this elite athlete unable to play baseball.

If you think outside relationships have no bearing on a player's performance, you are sadly mistaken. Probably not a lack of effort or drive, but, mental distractions can make it appear that way. He should have evidence....on video......that shows he stands and takes center cut fastballs that he should hammer if he is the "middle of the order bat" that Hinch says he is. With runners on base and especially in scoring position, he should be ready to attack the first good pitch to hit that he sees. Unless the bases are loaded, you don't drive in runs with a walk. He has done this all season and shows no signs of figuring it out. He leaves the impression that he is either too stubborn to change or too dumb to realize what he is doing .

And, I never said that "getting poon" made Correa unable to play. I said or implied that his pitiful performance began after he became engaged, which he did on national TV just to get attention. I think his stats will prove that to be true. He has yet to perform consistently enough to be labeled an elite athlete.

I'm not saying they can't affect performance, but we have no way of knowing that. At all. So there is no point in us, as nobody fans, throwing families under the bus for a player's performance.

All I'll say to that is, anybody getting paid millions of dollars to be a professional sports players, in any sport, which only a few hundred get to do each year (out of millions), is an elite athlete.

No, we don't know that, but, his performance since he became engaged makes it appear that this is part of the problem. He doesn't look close to the player he was last season. If he is injured, that would explain it. But, he was not much better before going on the DL than he is now. For that reason, I would like to see them bring in Josh Donaldson and/or Justin Smoak so they could play Bregman at SS because Correa is killing them. Since he is being paid to be an "elite athlete", he needs to start performing like one.

He had a very good 1st half and, after a slow May, was having an excellent June before his injury. He's been brutal since he came back for sure, but his first half numbers were very good. If he had maintained that pace, he was easily looking at a 25+ HR 100+ RBI 100+ Runs season with an .800+ OPS, and with above-average defense at shortstop. As far as his pay for performance goes, he's making $ 1 million this year. Gurriel, the master of RISP, who is now hitting below league average (and much worse than Correa), is making $12+ million. And all that while one is playing good defense at a defensive premium position...and the other is barely a 1B.

The only sport where my performance was better for not having sex was boxing. It tended to make me want to hit someone a little more.
If you look at Carlos' performance pre all star and post all star it is really note worthy. He did pretty good prior to the break, after the break he is really doing poorly. Perhaps the reason for his fall off is his back and not his carnal knowledge accumulation. My guess is his back is jacked up still, but Coach may be correct it could be related to his sexual activity depending of course upon which pages of the Kama Sutra they were on for the past 6 weeks.

I think most of Correa's problem is between his ears. He goes to the plate without a clue and seems incapable of adjusting to the situation depending on the count. He constantly gets behind in the count by taking pitches he should be able to drive.

He was fine before and sucks after that. In your opinion did he suddenly just stop preparing and say "I will just wing it". Why would he do that.
