And yet, he only gave up one run that the defense screwed up. Regardless, he had a few walks and allowed baserunners in every inning after the first. They were constantly threatening to score. I wouldn’t take the chance with Calhoun or even Young after so many pitches and averted threats. Like I told the other guy, it’s not like he was breezing up until that point. If he were, I’d agree that he needed to finish it. He got screwed by the umpires, and had a handful of infield singles. He wasn't laboring that much. You're saying you have more faith in Sipp then Cole?

I’ve said it before...the game was not played this way when I was young. Cole just got a lefty out. Let him try and get the 3rd out. He didn’t look like he was tiring to me. What if Calhoun lit him up? It wasn’t like Cole was having an easy game up to that point. He was playing with fire all game. You’ve still got 4 at bats left. I see both sides but I would have let him pitch to Calhoun. This should be a 3 or 4 run lead but it isn’t.

With an offense that could only get a walk with the bases loaded and no outs, I’d take no chances. At the plate, these guys have been extremely unreliable and are no sure bet to overcome a late deficit.

I hardly like Sipp over Cole, but I’d go with the fresh arm in that situation. Calhoun is pesky and has shown this series that he can turn on some heat. Maybe if the offense was reliable at all, I’d sing a different tune about Cole in that inning.

He could be the closer if Hinch saw it fit.

Altuve looks like garbage right now. I wonder if the knee or his arm from that HBP is bothering him.

If I were the Angels I would of just walked Gonzales to get to Gurriel. No sense taking a chance with someone who can actually hit.
