So, a pitcher is allowed to do a quick pitch with a runner on base?

So, a pitcher is allowed to do a quick pitch with a runner on base? Only if they don't get caught.

Record for most GIDPs in a season is 174 by the 1990 Red Sox well we are behind the curve then with 145 in 148 games. We need to go ahead and put the pennant away and then go for that record too.

7 strike outs in 3 innings that is on record pace as well. But with 53 pitches in 3 innings I doubt he gets past the 6th.

“Left side soreness” for Betts. He’s had it before and missed 12 games. Latest on Betts from mlb.com: “BOSTON -- Red Sox right fielder Mookie Betts had to exit Sunday's game against the Mets in the top of the sixth inning due to soreness in his left side. He will be further evaluated. Prior to coming out, Betts had just made back-to-back throws to home plate, the latter of which was a sacrifice fly by Wilmer Flores. Just after the Red Sox had called for a review on that play, manager Alex Cora noticed Betts on the ground trying to stretch out his left side. Cora then ran out to the field with assistant trainer Masai Takahashi, and Betts ran back to the dugout shortly thereafter. It is unclear how the injury occurred, but Betts did get hit on the left side by a pitch from Mets right-hander Corey Oswalt in the first inning on Saturday. Betts was on the disabled list with a left abdominal strain from May 29-June 10.”

5 relievers have pitched for Tampa Bay and Oakland has 3 hits, two in the last inning and one of them erased on an Astro daily double (play).

Betts and Correa better both get back up to speed by the playoffs. I want both teams at top strength and watch what happens. Should be epic.

Top of the order for Arizona. Pitchers duel. Verlander needs another good inning.
