By September, a lot of times the starters would hit a wall at around 80 pitches where they just couldn't locate well after that.
Now it's October and many times they may just have 60 or 70 quality pitches in the tank.
Still, if you knew you could have a one-run lead after 5 innings when the other team starts Chris Sale, you take it every time.
