But I can see them trading Tucker if they sign Brantley or Pollock. I could see them trying to package Reddick in a deal. I like him a lot, he plays hard. But I could see Luhnow sending off his remaining 2 year/26M contract to someone like the Tigers and/or DBacks in exchange for Zimmerman + Some Cash Considerations or Greinke +Cash Considerations. Tucker is the team's future and they control him cheaply for years....they will need his low salary to offset the future contracts of Bregman, Springer, etc.

I wonder if the Astros have approached Verlander with a contract extension already.

I'm all for it. I'm not a big fan of Tucker. I dont think he has the vision for the Majors. A 21 year old, regarded as one of the top hitting lprospects for 2 years now, and now after 64 ABS in the Majors, you don't think he has what it takes? And I thought Corch had a quick hook... Wait. There is a reason. When you look at Tuckers swing no matter what the unlucky thing that has been said. It's like he is always late. He cant pick it up. Looks like his Borther Preston alot. I understand he is regarded as. But come on he should have atleast shown signs of improvement with his swing in the Majors. Not just barely getting contact . He should be able to adjust himself to getting hits not just the same the same the same. 64 at bats is not enough I get it but you should have seen something of an improvement

But I can see them trading Tucker if they sign Brantley or Pollock. Both are a gamble because of their susceptibility to injuries; but I would rather have Potluck, because he is not near the defensive liability that Brantley is in the OF.

The Diamonbacks believe selling Grienke and Goldy separate is the way to go.
Idk if they sell off Reddick would make since if they have someone waiting and it would free up money for the next two years. Depends on the return I guess and who we sign or reader for before the notion.

I will be frank
Correra I think he is the one that is leastlest to pull a contract. It really depends on these next couple years. These two years comming up will let you know if he is here or traded.

We have no starters currently on our roster that we can count on for 2020. It would be the height of managerial malpractice to attempt to replace all of them through free agency either this year or next, or to expect 5 prospects to develop by then. So we have to trade for someone this year and next winter as well.
If we were interested in paying the crazy asking prices for free agent pitchers we would of already signed Keuchel. With a reasonable level of certainty that he would deliver 200+ innings of sub 4.00 era. What free agent pitcher can we count on for that.
Given that we have two top 50 outfield prospects at the AAA level it stands to reason that we would trade an outfielder for a pitcher. So it makes sense to trade Reddick plus a couple of top 10 prospects to Arizona for Greinke and it also makes sense to trade Tucker to the Mets as the headliner in a Syndergaard deal. Neither deal would surprise me but not making one of the two deals would. Making both trades would surprise me. In my little noggin the first step in the process would be to sign a free agent outfielder.

The Keuchal ship has sailed.
Snydergaard is the key to this ship.
Jon Hayman said again MLB impact players for Noah Why not start with Stassi, White and Kemp and see how much more we would need to add to make it happen?

Interesting note Mariners looking into trading Rbinson Cano. Mega Package could be on table but not for what you would expect.
Mariners get Gencarlo Stanton and Jacoby Ellsbury with two high end prospects like there two and three
Yankees get Robinson Cano Felix Hernandez and Edwin Diaz
I would never see this trade going down but if it did it would be a huge mega trade Money deal. There would have to be some cash going the other way. And maybe another trade stacked on top of that.
Mariners sending Stanton and some cash to the Phillies for Santana?
I mean wow that would be a crazy trade. Almost fantasy

I have seen reports that Luhnow has made it clear to other teams this offseason that he will not trade Whitley. Maybe I have missed it, but I don’t recall seeing any reports this offseason indicating that Luhnow has told other teams that Tucker is untouchable. I’ve gotta believe he would trade Tucker if the right deal came along.

Tucker is our best chance at getting good MLB talent without giving up Whitley. We need young pitching more than we need young OFers.
Trade Whitley to get a SP Sign a LFer (McCutchen) Sign a C (Ramos or Grandal) Depending on money leftover, Sign Cruz Get Springer an extension
DH should be the last FA we need to sign. That should be a luxury, imo. We have White or Gurriel that can DH when not playing 1B and can always go get somebody cheaper like Cronn or Gattis if we need bench depth.

It's not like Tucker has been given a long run to see what he has. If we based our final conclusion on Tucker based on the short time he was up in 2018, it would be a serious mistake. I seem to remember that some.......myself included.....were ready to call Bregman a bust when he first came up. I think we see how that is turning out. BIG mistake to give up on Tucker and trade him.

It's easier and cheaper to sign suitable OFers though, plus infielders can be converted.

So Kyle Tucker, Stassi, Jake, Davis and a lotto Prospect like Joe Perez for Noah Syndergaard. You pass.... I dont think so. 3 yrs of control and gives you someone to eventually pair with Cole and Whitley as a 1 2 3 with out having thinking about Verlander. I want Verlander but this gives you a choice and paints a box around Verlander stay or go. Which is harder to find infielders that can hit or OFs? Infielders? ? There are loads of OFers who are out there on the market at any givin time. Premium postions. Also if they dont move Alvarez he would be next man up. The fact they are thinking of adding a OF tells you alittle something YES??

Think about it. They add Pollock. Springer slides to LF.
Tucker, Jake, Davis, Stassi and Joe Perez to the Mets for Noah.
J.B, Yordan and couple prospects for Realmuto.
Then you can think about Paul Goldshmidt Sign Cruz, Morton, Robertson and Kelly.
That's an improvement if you wanna keep Yuli at 1B and pass on Paul

Brian McCann has signed with the Braves. Edit: Braves also close to signing Donaldson. It is good for the Astros that both things happened....The Braves by signing McCann may have withdraw themselves as competition in the Astros signing or trading for a catcher...And by spending $23M on Donaldson hopefully lessens them from being big players for a top FA the Astros might be interested in.
