Meetings are there? No wonder Harper was trolling his whore ass there.
This is one son of a bitch I do not want in Houston.

Again, I'm not rooting for us to spend money on him, but... Talk about adding an impact bat. If you lose Correa, Bregman or Springer you'll still have an offensive player better than either of them. Also frees you up to trade Tucker for a pitcher.
I don't love his attitude from what I've seen, but there's no doubt he would improve the team.
Springer Altuve Bregman Harper Correa Gurriel Reddick White/Diaz Chirinos
That team is going to score runs. You could even hit Harper 2nd and watch him score 150 runs because he gets on base so well even when slumping.

My impression of Harper during his career, is a selfish, all about me POS. The Nats have had probably some of the best talent of the past 10 years, and have nothing to show for it. His presence in the club house will be nothing but a negative. Someone with his experience and pay check better be showing some team leadership. Someone mentioned earlier that the "character matters" card was thrown out the window with the Osuna trade. Luhnow will be doubling down on that philosophy if he signs him. I might be in the minority here, but I hope his ass stays away. And as far as I am concerned he is Jeff Kent redux.

But Jeff Kent did a great job for us and was fairly well-liked in the clubhouse. I'd be okay with that again!

Hate to keep saying it, but sometimes the best deals are the ones you don't make. I also have a personal opinion on this shark feeding frenzy known as winter meetings- It's real easy to over pay in the heat of action. Since we wisely did not put Whitely on the table, I also think the other teams were thinking we weren't serious in dealing.

The winter meetings is just not as significant as it was in the past, before the advent of computers, internet, teleconferencing, cell phones, etc. I’m not concerned that Luhnow didn’t complete any deals in Vegas.

Luhnow years back was upset at himself for making moves too early. If Morton has a shoulder issue, I am not upset at the moves that Luhnow did not make that other teams did... Are there any moves that anyone is really distraught the Astros did not make, whether it be a signing or a trade?

I’m worried about his health, and he’s not getting any younger. That was a great call. Hopefully, it doesn’t backfire.

I think a lot of fans kind of idealize CFM because of his performance in the WS and his good season this past season. But, they forget the year before when he could barely get out of the 3rd inning game after game.

Just appreciate what he gave you because it didn’t have to be and wasn’t supposed to be so brilliant.

Because there are a bunch of snowflakes who melt anytime someone does a little show boating. You consider Ryan, Carlton, Gibson, Marichal, and Drysdale snow flakes? Cause if they had done that shit back in the day, the next AB would have been interesting to say the least. IMO, it sullies the game, as an example of thuggery sportsmanship.

If flipping a bat on a home run is thuggery sportsmanship, what do you call pelting someone with a 90+mph fast ball because of said bat flip?

Doesn't have to be a HBP. Plenty of messages can be sent by a well placed inside fastball.

Thuggery Sportsmanship - Upon the completion of extraordinary achievement, it's the act of performing meaningless, celebratory gestures which physically harm no one. Etiquette Standards Retribution - the act of threatening and/or causing actual physical harm to anyone who engages in Thuggery Sportsmanship. I think it's hypocritical for a person to believe in one of these, and not the other. I personally love to see both. If a player is good enough to back up what he's serving, let them. It makes for some spicy baseball.

I don't mind emotion, and I don't mind retribution. Some of the bat flips and such get annoying now and then, but not enough to determine if I want them on my team or not.
