There was a press report earlier that Altuve would DH and apparently Hinch has reconsidered on that idea. That's not terribly encouraging.
Looks like Devo will make his ST debut today.

I thought they reported just the other day that he felt great?

I thought they reported just the other day that he felt great? The Astros media office doesn't seem to be a bastion of transparency

True, but I don't think Altuve would lie about feeling great. I'm sure they're just being careful with him and Bregman, as they should be.

Hinch said all these guys arrive at camp already conditioned to play, and he thinks ST is too long by far. So I think we don't need to worry about these guys getting ST playing time.

Nice catch in CF by Fisher
Between Straw, Fisher, and Marisnick, nobody's going to go down without a fight

Devo's picking up right where he left off.
Bases loaded and nobody out.

It took Devo 25 pitches to finally get an out. That's all Hinch wanted to give him.

White nearly had his first HR of the spring. ended up being a double off the wall. One thing that stands out this spring is how White is hitting mostly to CF and RF, not pulling the ball nearly as much as last year.

Tucker ended up hitting a very smooth double down the RF line to plate White.
Both of those guys look ready for the regular season.
White is 3 for 8 with 2 doubles, a single, 2 walks, and 1 K.

Well, I would say *most* arrive conditioned to play. Well, you'd certainly know better than Hinch would. Pictures and reports of various players showing up out of shape happens almost every year. Just this year it was already reported about Yoenis Céspedes showing up chubby. I guess all those reports are lying though because you say so.

I agree with Reed. Devo looks like he did at the end of last season and in 2017 and he's terrible. He cannot locate his pitches......his slider backs up and gets hammered.

It is spring training and have someone complaining about Devo after one appearance, laughable.

Quite possible Altuve was held out of today's game simply due to the weather forecast.
We should starting seeing more of the A-Team players next week.

it is even more laughable that self-proclaimed baseball brains don't see that Devenski looks like he did at the end of the last two seasons when he was hammered on a regular basis. Only an idiot can see he looks the same even though it's Spring Training.'
Glad to see that punk ass astros fan still thinks he is the ultimate authority, But then, that is one of the characteristics of a fraud.

Some minor leaguers taking this ST by the horns and trying to make a case for promotion:
Ronnie Dawson Nick Tanielu Abraham Toro Chuckie Robinson
Hinch giving the most PAs to Mayfield, Fisher, and Reed so far. My guess is he's trying to give them a chance to build some trade value. While Fisher may be doing so, the other two aren't so much.
However if Dawson - Tanielu - Toro - Robinson can continue to shine over the next few weeks, maybe that helps them become trade bait to help solve the pitching issue or add an impact bat should the early season offense sputter.

Most people would respond similarly to passive-aggressive shit slinging, especially when it's nearly constant.

Feels like we're living in some weird alternative universe.
Yuli Gurriel just worked a count and drew a walk. Never seen him so patient before.

That response seems a little excessive... maybe, but, the comment from that arrogant, lying son of a bitch was unnecessary. You get what you ask for. If he's too damn stupid to see that Devenski is doing EXACTLY the same thing he did at the end of the last two seasons he isn't paying attention. The fact that it is Spring Training has nothing to do with it. He was getting the same results during the second half of each season.
